2009 Renault Laguna Coupe U.K. pricing announced

After its first public appearance in the Paris Motor Show early this month, Renault has now established the price of its long-awaited new Laguna Coupe which ranges from £20,995 ($35,661 or €27,025) to £27,995 ($47,542 or €36,034). The new Laguna lead vehicle has more than just the segment-leading Bmw 3-series Coupe in its view.

With a bundle of high-performance engines, remarkable equipment performance and 4Control chassis in its Coupe GT semblance, the graceful four-seater has a daunting battery of accessories.

The Coupe series has the best engines from the New Laguna variety, as well as two of its own, both equipped with the arrival of the powerful V6. There will be four engines available during its launching, two each for both petrol and diesel, the 2.0 Turbo 205 hp and 3.5 V6 240 hp with the 2.0 dCi 150 hp and 2.0 dCi 180 hp, respectively.

The 2.0 dCi 180 hp receives an extra 5 hp boost from the present dCi 175 in the remainder of the new Laguna series, as well as a specific filter. The new lead vehicle's diesel engine, the 3.0 V6 dCi 235 hp, will be available in the early part of 2009. Automatic transmission is offered for the 2.0 dCi 150 hp and standard on 3.5 V6 240 hp and 3.0 V6 dCi 235 hp.

Standard equipment quality is remarkable and fitting a luxury coupe. Coupe sleek level consists of Arkamys 3D Sound 140 watt audio system with CD and MP3 reader and Bluetooth interface, an 18 inch Interlagos alloy wheels, eight high-performance airbags, automatic lights and wipers, double zone climate management, door mirrors that are electrically heated, MP3 player connectivity, sensors for rear parking, rear seat system from Super Fold, double chrome exhaust (except for the 2.0 dCi 150 hp manual) and powerful xenon headlights.

The top-of-the-line Coupe GT has gained advantage from Renault's groundbreaking 4Control chassis, first observed on GT models of New Laguna Hatch and Sport Tourer. The 4Control, four-wheel steering systems which was mutually developed by Renault and Renault Sport Technologies, guarantees the definitive driving satisfaction, handling, active response and steering precision.

Besides the 4Control chassis, lead Coupe GT specs includes 18 inch Celsium alloy wheels, cruise control, automatic parking brake, electrochrome rear view mirror, electric heated and foldable door mirrors, GT leather covered steering wheel, leather seat and door upholstery with a choice of four colors, Renault Hands Free keycard and electronic speed limiter.

The entry-level Coupe 2.0 Turbo 205 at £22,345 ($37,946 or €29,469) sells for a significant £6,805 ($11,555 or €8,762) less than its corresponding BMW competition even with £1,000 ($1,698 or €1,287) worth of accessories not taken into consideration.
