Several weeks ahead of its planned official launching which will be on November 21 2008, video aficionados will be the first to get a taste of Renault's attractive new Megane Coupe. Even though they will only be doing this on video screens in the safety and comfort of their living rooms, video players will come as close as to enjoying the real French marque's stylish three-door coupe.
This early video experience is made possible by the latest edition of the incredibly successful Need for Speed franchise, entitled Need for Speed Undercover. Renault and the world's leading video game producer, Electronic Arts, have come together to bring to life their common passion cars.
New Megane Coupe will be sharing the stage of the new game with the likes of Audi R8, BMW M6 and Porsche 911 GT2 and can be driven by players as they speed across highways and chase opponents in high-speed action represented by more than 80 digital miles of the Tri-City Bay Area, to take down an international crime organization in undercover operations.
Although the sticker price of the new Megane Coupe is relatively modest at its planned debut early next year, its racy and sporting lines persuaded the creators of Need for Speed to include it in its impressive list of the most attractive cars in the world.
Since then, the developers of the game have been closely working on the digitized model of the Coupe based on the information detail provided by Renault to ensure the accuracy of the car's characteristics and behavior in the game. The result is remarkable.
The new core of the game's physics, the Heroic Driving Engine, provides an incredible and unique driving experience. The game, which was born 14 years ago, has been evolving ever since to bring fans more and more street-racing sensations. With its attention-getting cars, unsurpassed graphics and attention to technical details, it is the unchallenged action driving franchise for gamers worldwide.
As part of the business relationship, Renault's new coupe will be displayed alongside the Need for Speed Undercover stand during the MPH Show featuring Top Gear Live at both Earls Court, October 30 to November 2, and NEC Birmingham, November 13-16.
