2010 Audi A4, A5 and Q5 pricing announced

Article by Christian Andrei, on August 25, 2010

Demand for the 2010 Audi A4, A5 and Q5 is anticipated to be so high that Audi decided to release its pricing early. Although the overall pricing is slightly increased, the models have been correspondingly updated. A pair of new trims was added to the A5 lowering the bar for entry. Its 3.2L six-cylinder was replaced wit the 2.0T TFSI four-cylinder, cutting $4,700 off the starting price, from last year's $40,700 to its current price of $36,000.

Available on all A5 2.0T trims is an upgrade for the tiptronic transmission costing $1,200. The 3.2L with manual transmission offering has been dropped from the lineup.

Fans can't help but be excited for the updates to the 2010 Audi A5 that include the mentioned powertrain changes plus the new third-generation MMI system, new LED tail lights on Premium Plus and Prestige Models, a new set of optional wheels for the S5, and a thrilling new design for the entry-level Premium trim.

Johan de Nysschen, President of Audi of America, said that despite the economic turmoil that has affected all the premium car brands this year, interest in the three models has remained high.

He added that Audi will continue to release new models early and will soon introduce new models to its luxury sector lineup. Pricing for the 2010 Audi Q5 is up by $150 for the base Premium model to $37,350. The Premium Plus model is now priced at $41,400 while the Prestige model is now $48,850.

Updates include a new Fine Grain Ash and Natural Brown interior inlay option, new 20in five-spoke S-line wheels, and standard side assist on Prestige models. The Bang & Olufsen sound system can be had as a stand-alone option. Further enhancing the 2010 models are several minor tweaks made to its interior and exterior. The 2010 Audi A4 is up $450, now starting at $31,450 for the Multitronic-equipped 2.0T FWD sedan.

If you include the quattro AWD with a manual transmission, the price goes up further to $32,350. Add tiptronic transmission bumps, which cost $1,200, bringing the total to $33,550. The 2010 Audi A4 is likewise available in Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige trims.

The Premium Plus and Prestige models will get a new set of LED taillights while the third-generation MMI system is available on all new models. The S4 has a new 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission and a new 3.0L TFSI supercharged V6 engine rated at 333hp and 325lb-ft of torque. Pricing for the 2010 Audi A5 and S5 Cabriolet has yet to be released.
