2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG priced at EUR105,800

The latest Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, which was revealed at the New York Auto Show this year, comes with the new appearance of the E-Class but with unparalleled levels of power and performance, is about to go into production. There are no pricing details revealed for the U.S. yet, however, reports emerging from Germany are saying that the price for the European market is 105,800 Euros.

The sale of the new 2010 E63 AMG will begin this August for Europe and November has been set for the US.

Mercedes-Benz's high performance brand, AMG, has unveiled its latest offering -- the new 2010 E63 AMG sports sedan. Its launch follows the successful debut of the new Mercedes E-Class.

Featuring the performance, handling characteristics and advanced technology of the SL63 AMG high-performance Roadster, the new E63 AMG is set apart from the typical Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedans by distinct exterior and interior design and a number of new elements like a revised front suspension and a newly developed AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension -- with electronically controlled damping.

Moreover, the new E63 AMG boasts of saving around 12-percent more fuel, thanks to Mercedes-Benz's decision to apply an array of fuel efficiency improvements. Sitting under the bonnet of the E63 AMG is a fast-revving, naturally aspirated AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine that provides up to 518 hp of output and a 465 lb-ft of torque – the same figures posted for the SL63 AMG and high-performance Roadster.

Additionally, the E63 AMG features the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT seven-speed sports transmission found in the SL63 AMG, replacing the conventional torque converter with the employment of a multi-disc wet start-up clutch. Featuring four individual driving modes, rev-matched shifts and RACE START function, this new engine-mated transmission allows for a responsive and high-performance driving experience.

Likewise, the AMG MCT sports transmission is good enough to enable the E63 AMG to spring from nil to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. Of course, there is a need to appropriately express the responsiveness, high redline and dynamic power of the AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine – achieved by the thrilling sound it emits while the E63 makes its way through the road.

To help achieve maximum endurance, the E63 AMG comes with a newly designed water cooling system. Moreover, to help achieve a high level of safety, the E63 AMG is blessed with array of innovative driver assistance systems. Mercedes will commence sales of the new E63 AMG in the United States in November 2009.
