2010 Suzuki SX4 SZ-L Special Edition released in UK

To go on sale this week in the UK is a new Special Edition SX4 model from Suzuki dubbed SZ-L. Featured with an urban look, the SZ-L features a Gunmetal finish for the roof rails, front grille, alloy rims and front & rear skid plates.

Upgrades were done on the interior. The vehicle features an Alcantara trim finished in light Grey, a three spoke steering wheel that uses a leather finish with Gunmetal stitching, as well as a dashboard-mounted CD changer with six discs.

Suzuki said that the SX4 is a “distinctive five-door hatchback” that combines the features of sporty compacts such as the Swift, with those of lightweight SUVs such as the Grand Vitara, to create an “exciting small car alternative.”

According to Suzuki’s press release, the new SZ-L model brings true urban styling to the popular SX4. Based on the SZ4 equipment level, this new model is powered by a 1.6 liter gasoline engine that develops 120 hp and is partnered to a manual transmission, distributing the power to the front wheels.

The model’s response is improved with a 1.6 liter powerplant that uses variable valve timing with a variable intake system. With this engine, the vehicle is able to go from zero to 62 mph in 10.7 seconds.

This model complies with the Euro V emission standards and returns a fuel economy figure of 45.6 UK mpg (38 US mpg or 6.19 liters per 100 km).

It has emissions of only 143 grams of CO2 per km. The SZ-L is priced at 13,145 pounds and is offered with metallic point, with a choice between two colors -- Silky Silver Pearl and Cosmic Black.

Suzuki GB PLC is pleased to announce a new Special Edition SX4 model, SZ-L, which goes on sale this week, ready for the ‘60’ registration plate.

Suzuki’s SX4 is a distinctive five-door hatchback that blends the characteristics of sporty compacts exemplified by the Swift, with those of lightweight SUVs such as the Grand Vitara, to create an exciting small car alternative.

The new SZ-L model brings true urban styling to the popular SX4 with unique Gunmetal coloured roof rails, front grille, alloy wheels and front and rear skid plates. For the interior a new style Alcantara trim in light grey is included plus a three spoke leather steering wheel with Gunmetal stitch detailing and six disc in dash CD changer.

SZ-L is based on the SZ4 grade and is available in two wheel drive format with 120PS 1.6-litre petrol engine and manual transmission only.

The Euro 5 emissions 1.6-litre petrol engine features variable valve timing with variable intake system for enhanced driveability and response. It powers the SX4 2WD models with manual transmission from nought to 62 mph in 10.7 seconds. In combined cycle driving, the 2WD manual models return 45.6mpg with emissions of 143g/km.

SZ-L is priced at £13,145 including metallic paint and is available in two colours, Silky Silver Pearl and Cosmic Black.

Alto – Latest offers

Suzuki is currently offering the Alto SZ4 model with no VAT to pay; the offer continues until the end of September and represents a customer saving of £1,332 on the SZ4 model, reducing the purchase price to £7,608.

Under a separate campaign, Alto SZ2 is currently available for just £6,495, saving £1,160 on the list price. The Special Edition SZ-L is equipped as standard with front fog lamps, air conditioning and various exterior and interior trim upgrades and is available for £6,995, a saving of £1,175.

Alto is one of the lowest cost cars to run with CO2 emissions of just 103g/km, fuel economy of 64.2mpg, £20 annual VED charges and insurance group 1.
