Orders are now being taken for the newly launched 2011 Mercedes Benz R-Class. Prices start at 42,100 euros for the entry-level model. The German carmaker will offer nine basic versions of the model. The top-of-the-line version, the R 500 4MATIC long-wheelbase, sells for 62,400 euros.
For the exterior, the car has been fitted with a horizontally structured bonnet and redesigned wings, radiator grille and surround, headlamps and bumpers. Buyers may opt for a chrome insert with integrated LED daytime driving lights, along with bi-xenon headlamps.
Standard equipment on all models include PRE-SAFE anticipatory occupant protection system, eight airbags, crash-responsive NECK-PRO head restraints, a tire pressure warning system and adaptive brake lights.
Operating the car is made easier with the DISTRONIC proximity control, AIRMATIC air suspension with the Adaptive Damping System ADS or Blind Sport Assist. The R-Class is also equipped with a LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system.
For its interior, the new generation R-Class uses new materials and color combinations, including the upholstery combination of "Aspen" fabric and breathable, soft-touch ARTICO man-made leather. Single-tone nappa leather appointments are standard features combined with the AMG Interior Sports package.
The nine different variants of the R-R-Class include R 300 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, R 350 CDI 4MATIC, R 350 CDI 4MATIC long, R 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC, R 300, R 300 long, R 350 4MATIC, R 350 4MATIC long and R 500 4MATIC long.
