Nissan announced today that the 2011 Pathfinder will carry a base price of $27,840 USD.The new car will be offered in five well-equipped models, Pathfinder S, SV, Silver Edition, LE and LE V8, each available in a choice of 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive except Pathfinder LE V8, which comes as standard in all-wheel drive.
The 2011 Pathfinder models (except LE V8) are powered by a standard 266-horsepower 4.0-liter V6 engine mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission, while the Pathfinder LE V8 comes with a more powerful 310-horsepower 5.6-liter V8 engine and 5-speed automatic.
For those who don’t know, the Pathfinder was introduced twenty five years ago, and in order to celebrate the milestone Nissan introduces a new 2011 Pathfinder Silver Edition model (priced at $35,490 USD for the 2-wheel drive version and at $37,490 USD for the 4-wheel drive model), which is offered with a 17-inch machine-finished aluminum-alloy wheels, Bose audio system with 10 speakers, XM Satellite Radio (XM subscription required, sold separately), Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, Nissan Intelligent Key, heated front seats and leather-appointed interior.
In addition to the Silver Edition, the 2011 Nissan Pathfinder comes in four models: Pathfinder S V6 (4x2 and 4x4) priced at $27,840 USD for the 2-wheel drive and at 29,840 USD for the 4-wheel drive, Pathfinder SV V6 ($31,190 USD for the two-wheel drive and $33,190 USD for the four-wheel drive), Pathfinder LE V6 ($37,470 USD for the two-wheel drive and $39,670 USD for the 4-wheel drive) and Pathfinder LE V8 (4x4 only) which is offered for $42,600 USD.
Twenty five years ago, drivers were first introduced to the original Nissan Pathfinder and we were not disappointed. The vehicle quickly established a reputation of style and comfort but at a great price. In celebration of the vehicles’ success, Nissan is releasing a new 2011 Pathfinder Silver Edition model with special anniversary features including: 17 inch machine finished aluminium alloy wheels, heated front seats and leather appointed interior, Nissan Intelligent Key system, Bose audio system with no less than 10 speakers, XM Satellite Radio.
A clean sounding V6 engine with 5 speed automatic transmission and a choice of 4 x 2 or 4 x 4 is on offer with the Silver Edition. If you do not choose the anniversary edition, the 20011 Nissan Pathfinder offers drivers four other models. Pathfinder S V6 (4x2 and 4x4), Pathfinder SV V6 (4x2 and 4x4), Pathfinder LE V6 (4x2 and 4x4) and Pathfinder LE V8 (4x4 only).
With a rated horsepower of 310, the Pathfinder’s 5.6 litre DOHC V8 engine has a 388 lob-ft. of torque and it can comfortably tow up to 7,000 lbs. The 4.0 litre V6 Pathfinder also offers 266 horsepower and 288 lb-ft. of torque. It is clear that the new Pathfinder has power and strength wrapped around an all steel frame modelled on the Nissan Armada SUV.
The 2011 Pathfinder now comes with three row seating for seven, as standard, which is an upgrade from the older model. There are a range of choices offered to customers with regard to the interior.
Nissan Intelligent key system with twist start, Nissan Navigation System 9.3GB Music Box Hard Drive, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, XM Satellite Radio (there is an additional charge for XM subscription) and Rear-view Monitor. Leather appointed seating is an option with a heated steering wheel. Espresso Black is the new exterior colour option and the Pathfinder SE model has been replaced by the Pathfinder SV model.
