Renault’s Wind Roadster has brought in a new Gordini flagship as well as shaved off up to £2,215 from its cost as Britain experiences another hot summer. Perfectly scheduled to coincide with open-air summer driving and the forthcoming launch of the two new Gordini versions, the company has also reduced the list price of Dynamique and GT Line versions of its coupé-roadster, turning the entry-level variant to just £12,995 now.
With its ingenious roof that rotates closed in just 12 seconds, the chic two-seater is more than able to cope with weather changes.
Being the third Gordini to join the line in the guise of Wind Roadster, it welcomes the trademark Malta Blue metallic paint with the twin white Gordini stripes and the usual Gordini badges on the side pillars.
Glacier White and Pearl Black are also no cost options. The white variants come with chrome effect bodywork detailing. In addition, the 1.2 and 1.6 variants both benefit from white door mirrors, grille trim and cowls, and 17-inch alloy wheels with a polished face and gloss black inserts.
The theme continues in the cockpit-style cabin with Gordini blue and dark grey leather seats embossed with Gordini logo, blue gearstick surround, numbered Gordini plaque (1-200) and satin chrome effect gearknob with blue Gordini badge.
To complement the Gordini touches, high-standard specifications are available such as Thatcham category 1 alarm, multi-functional TunePoint for USB connections, climate control, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The latest variant is also upgradeable with three key options. The most striking is a Renaultsport exhaust for £450 (1.6 only), connected by 17-inch Gordini alloy wheels with polished face and blue inserts and a wind deflector for £200.
