2011 Scion xB pricing announced

Article by Christian A., on March 16, 2010

The new MY2011 Scion xB urban utility vehicle will have a starting MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) of $16,000 for the manual transmission version, which is just around $150 higher than the cost of its predecessor.

The automatic transmission model, meanwhile, has an MSRP of $16,950. The slight increase in price comes as the new Scion xB is provided with more features inside and out. Even at first glance, it is fairly easy to notice the exterior changes on the refreshed xB, including revisions on its front and rear bumpers, headlights and taillights and its grill.

Likewise, the new xB features a new front bumper with enlarged outer vents, which work to enhance the appearance of the vehicle’s stance. Also very noticeable is the xB’s front grille that dons a new honeycomb pattern as well as its improved headlamp design.

On the rear, the single backup lamp has been incorporated into combination lamps for more refined looks. Completing the exterior looks of the Scion xB is any of the seven exterior colors that include the Army Rock Metallic and Elusive Blue Metallic.

The color choices, however, now exclude Hypnotic Teal. Now built to be more comfortable is the cabin of the xB, which features redesigned driver- and front-passenger seats that now include larger bolsters.

Meanwhile, the front and rear seats are wrapped in a new light gray fabric that features a geometric pattern for the seating surfaces while black fabric covers the bolsters, bases and backs. New to the Scion xB is a combination center console with sliding armrest, which should provide more comfort to the driver.

To allow occupants, most particularly the driver, to better view the information on the panel, the gauge cluster now features a new design with black background. It even features a separate clock and outside temperature display.

On the other hand, the steering wheel of the xB now features both telescopic and tilt functions. Customers are advised that the MSRP excludes the delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee, which is pegged at $670. However, DPH fee for Scion vehicles distributed by Southeast Toyota (SET) and Gulf States Toyota (GST) may differ from the standard fee.
