Toyota unveiled this weekend at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Salon the brand new GRMN (Gazoo Racing tuned by MN) iQ Racing Concept, a tweaked version of the popular iQ. The new car comes fitted with a supercharged engine and a roll-cage, as well as a new deep front air dam, huge lower air intake and racing wheels. It appears that just like the previous concept showed back in 2009, the new concept will be produced in a limited edition.
For those who don’t know, Gazoo’s previous iQ concept car was given a limited production run in Japan that sold out immediately. Moreover, the 2011 Tokyo Auto Saloon also saw the Toyota Prius G Sports Concept as well as the TRD Auris GT Concept.
Tokyo Auto Salon, the world’s biggest custom car show, presented five modified and tuned Lexus cars over the weekend, celebrating its sporting side. Although we are a couple of months away from its official launch, the new CT 200H was presented in special F-Sport disguise, along with many sporting features such as a Modellista body kit, alloy wheels and seats by Recaro Sports.
This model was accompanied by two fresh models of the ultra-high performance IS F: the Circuit Club Sport Racer (CCS-R) and Club Performance Accessory.
The CCS-R continues the tradition of track saloons being lightweight, with body panels of carbon fiber, including bonnet and boot lid and front and rear spoilers, as well as new roll cage with frameless construction and windows from polycarbonate.
Carbon Fiber is also used for the dashboard inside, as well as for the door trims, and the center console. The racing details are boosted to a six-point safety harness and short-diameter wheel with paddle shifts.
The performance of the car was also engineered, with racing suspension, cooling and exhaust, brakes, mechanically limited-slip differential and forged alloys shod with slick tires.
Toyota Racing Department (TRD) presented the IS F Club Performance Accessory, which enabled the strongest IS model to have a fearless appearance with spoilers fore and aft, a carbon fiber hood and a rear diffuser. The package is complete when you add sports brakes and suspension, magnesium wheels, a titanium exhaust and a mechanical LSD.
