For better traction and improved comfort due to easier shifting, the Caddy and Caddy Maxi now come with 4MOTION and DSG dual clutch gearbox. The package is available right away.
Volkswagen is relying on the new platform to position its vehicle at the top of the compact and urban delivery van segment. It features an ATD diesel engine that guarantees a decent level of torque.
About 140 hp (103 kW) is generated by the 2.0-liter, four valve per cylinder turbo diesel engine. It is capable of developing its maximum torque of 320 Nm between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm.
This Caddy is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 10.5 seconds and it features a maximum speed of 183 km/h (114 mph). The DSG gearbox is expected to make the most of the torque, as the quicker shifting will make it easier to keep the engine in the rev band.
Caddy’s new platform features a permanent AWD mated to a six speed double clutch gearbox. Traction on all four wheels is guaranteed by the fourth-generation, electronically controlled Haldex system, ensuring good traction for all four wheels, regardless of whether the cargo weighs up to 700 kilograms (1543 lbs) or have a big load in tow through wet fields or other difficult off-road conditions.
The Caddy 2.0 TDI 4MOTION equipped with DSG is available immediately. The panel van, excluding VAT, is priced from EUR22,790. Meanwhile, the Trendline is priced from EUR29,113 for the Trendline, including VAT.
