2011 Vw Eos Facelift UK pricing announced

Article by Christian Andrei, on November 28, 2010

Volkswagen has confirmed that the facelifted version of Volkswagen's Eos coupe-cabriolet will have a starting price of £22,895. Launched at the latest Los Angeles Motor Show before it arrived at UK showrooms in January 2011, the revised model is the latest in a long line of recent VW models to receive a Golf-style makeover.

To adopt this style, the Eos was given a re-designed front-end including a new headlight design integrating LED daytime running lights, a new chrome-trimmed front grille and a lower, wider air intake at the bottom.

It also features new fog lights. The Golf’s inspiration is also obvious at the rear as its bumper was redesigned and its rear lights have been squared off. The revisions made on the interior are minimal. It received a new steering wheel and instrument panel.

Some of the material quality has been improved and VW offers new leather trim options for it. Other new features include Light and Park Assist systems and keyless entry and start.

Also, a wireless remote control could be used on the retractable hard-top roof. A 120bhp 1.4 TSI petrol engine powers the entry level model. Petrol options include 158bhp 1.4 TSI and 207bhp 2.0 TSI units. The Eos is also available with a 138bhp TDI.

UK ORDER BOOKS OPEN FOR OPEN-TOP VOLKSWAGEN EOS

Following its debut last week at the Los Angeles Motor Show, the revised Eos has opened for ordering in the UK with a starting price of £22,895 (RRP, on the road) ahead of the first examples arriving in Volkswagen Retailers in early 2011.

Featuring a new look and offering a fresh range of comfort and convenience technologies the Eos remains the only vehicle of its kind to feature a five piece metal folding hard top complete with an integrated glass sunroof. For the first time, remote roof opening and closing is also available on the Eos.

The new model has now been brought into line with the styling direction adopted by the Polo, Golf and Passat, with a new bumper, a horizontal grille, a set of new headlights similar to those found on the Golf as well as a new bonnet and front wings. At the rear new light units and a bumper are joined by fresh interior trims and even the option of a new leather finish that reflects the sun’s rays to prevent it heating up as normal leather would.

Powering the Eos is a range of powerful yet efficient TSI petrol and TDI diesel engines ranging from 122 PS to 210 PS, each equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox or, on selected models, the option of a six-speed DSG gearbox.
