2012 Dodge Durango rendered… looks impressive!

Article by Christian Andrei, on August 26, 2010

Andrew Currie made a set of renderings of the 2012 Dodge Durango a.k.a. Magnum, giving us our first look of this vehicle. These renderings were actually crafted from leaked patent drawings.

They show a grille that appears to have been inspired by a Ram, a large front bumper, and a unique hood. The car also got a flat rear bumper (when viewed in profile), subtle character lines, and a roof-mounted spoiler.

The Durango is expected to be a seven-seater and to ride on an extended version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee's platform (which is based on the current Mercedes ML) and to have a long wheelbase.

The engine options include a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 280 hp (209 kW / 284 PS) and a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 360 hp (268 kW / 365 PS).

Both engines will be partnered to a five-speed automatic transmission which will distribute power to the rear-wheel wheels (four-wheel drive will be optional).

It has yet to be confirmed but there are reports that the 2012 Dodge Durango will be unveiled at the 2011 North American International Auto Show. [source worldcarfans via cheersandgears]
