Building on Jeep’s seven decades of 4x4 engineering experience, the Jeep Wrangler offers supreme off-road capability with iconic four-wheel drive. The latest iteration of the Wrangler still offers a body-on-frame design, live axles and electronic lockers as well as front and rear five-link suspension system. For this version, the ride and sound characteristics of the Wrangler's body-on-frame design have been meticulously optimized.
The overall performance of the new Jeep Wrangler has been improved by employing revised suspension calibrations as well as new motor and transmission adaptations. Customers could now choose between a six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic transmission. Jeep also worked thoroughly to improve the interior sound quality by refining the powertrain mounting system and employing noise damping in the firewall.
In addition, the Jeep Wrangler comes with an engine cover that could effectively prevent engine and exterior noises to seep into the interior. Even on the outside, the noise coming from the engine could be hardly heard even while it’s idle.
To achieve this effect, all accessories have been mounted directly to the new 3.6-liter V-6 engine with no accessory brackets, thereby ensuring that all accessories -- the power steering pump, air conditioning compressor and alternator – remain firmly anchored and are less vulnerable to vibration and noise. Moreover, Jeep retuned the shocks of the Wrangler to achieve an optimal balance between advanced on-road handling and rugged off-road capability.
