Maybach has taken the wraps off its new Edition 125! one-off anniversary car at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany. Like its name clearly indicates, this Maybach special vehicle celebrates the luxury carmaker’s 125th anniversary and in honor of automotive designer Wilhelm Maybach.
This new Edition 125! explores individualization options for the brand’s high-end saloons. It boasts of contour lighting as well as a laser-engraved light motif, with the double-M in the front armrest, which represents the double-M in a curved triangle as illuminated from inside.
The Maybach Edition 125! Is an example of how the brand has been expanding its portfolio of high-quality optional equipment and appointments. For instance, the anniversary car is finished in Maybach’s newly created special colors Tahiti Black/ Patagonia Silver. It is also specified with a glove compartment lid embroidered with the signature of Wilhelm Maybach, trim in silver carbon fibre/black piano lacquer as well as silver-colored topstitching.
The one-off car also features a newly styled radiator grille as well as matt black 20-inch wheels with high-sheen spokes. Maybach’s new aggressive chrome radiator grille should further boost the superb and radiant appearance of the brand’s current high-end saloons. This arrow-shaped radiator grille is available in two variants: the first version features 20 longitudinal bars as seen in the Maybach 57 and 62 models; while the second version has 12 solid double louvres and a “shadow strut,” as seen in the Maybach 57 S and 62 S. Likewise, both versions of the grille have greater dimensions and are placed higher, with a more upright position.
Its modified bonnet – now with sharply defined contours – has been elevated. Featuring a contoured edge, the bonnet now looks more arrow-shaped. Maybach’s high-end saloons are now provided with restyled, horizontally structured bumper trim that makes them look wider, as well as LED daytime driving lights bordered with a chrome insert integrated into the outer air intakes. The front end of the Edition 125! is complemented by exterior mirrors with larger surfaces and optimized aerodynamics for less driving noise.
The rear end, meanwhile, features dark red tail lights and a booth handle with chrome trim. Maybach 57 and 62 models are specified with high-sheen 21-spoke 19-inch wheels in titanium silver while Maybach 57 S and 62 S models are riding 12-spoke 20-inch wheels in noble sterling silver.
All of Maybach’s high-end saloons could be finished in the new Bahamas Blue paint. Before, only Maybach saloons with a long wheelbase could be fitted with the rear reclining seat. However, this feature is now available to be installed in the Maybach 57 and 57 S models, specifically on the front-passenger side in the rear of the Maybach 57 and 57 S models. Moreover, clients could expect a more refined seat upholstery layout as well as additional piping. In addition, the piping could be hand-braided or decorated with Swarovski Elements.
