Article by Christian Andrei, on November 17, 2010

It’s not a secret anymore that the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG four-door coupe will make its world debut at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show, as we already reported here. The big surprise is that the German manufacturer revealed the specs of the car ahead of the debut of the car, which will take place tomorrow.

As expected, the new car will carry a new 5.5-liter biturbo V8 (found also on the S63 AMG), delivering 518 hp and 516 lb.-ft. of torque.

The engine will be mated to an AMG MCT (for multi-clutch technology) transmission and innovative systems designed to reduce fuel consumption.

In addition, for those who want more power, Mercedes-Benz will offer an optional Performance Package that includes increased power: 550 hp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque.

Regarding the design, the new car is expected to come with redesigned front and rear bumpers, a new set of AMG sports wheels and a new rear air diffuser with in integrated exhaust system.

Inside, expect to see an aluminum or carbon trim, a new sports steering wheel, new sport seats and a new set of aluminum pedals. More details to be revealed tomorrow! Stay tuned!
