Nissan has released the pricing for the 2012 Rogue, which is expected to soon arrive in dealerships throughout the country. The entry-level model, the Rogue S CVT FWD, comes with front-wheel-drive and is priced from $21,530. The range-topping Rogue SV CVT with the SL Package AWD is priced at $29,120. The available trim levels include the S and the superior SV.
Customers may also choose to add one of the three optional goodies pack, including the Special Edition, Premium Package and SL Package. The first one is new for 2012. It sells for $1200 and its new features include 16-inch alloy rims, XM Satellite Radio, and an audio system with a 4.3-inch display and USB connectivity.
The changes for the 2012 model year include a Sport Mode switch, fresh alloy rims and Graphite Blue as a new exterior color. All of the models are powered by the 170 hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which is coupled to an xTronic CVT gearbox.
The 2012 Nissan Rogue has a modern and sophisticated exterior. It features dramatic styling that has arched forms and strong rear shoulder lines. The extensive reworking of the design gives the new compact SUV a sportier feel while also upholding the Rogue’s expensive appearance.
Nissan North American, Inc.’s Nissan Division vice president and general manager Al Castignetti says that the new Rogue is different from other compact SUVs in its segments because there is “nothing toy-like” about it. Every element is polished and grown-up, helping emphasize its performance and athletic look.
The new Rogue features Xenon headlights, a power sliding glass moonroof that has dark gray glass and roof rails. You can opt for detachable crossbars instead of the roof rails. You also get chrome door handles, a bumper that matches your car body’s color, power sideview mirrors, as well as a rear liftgate that has fixed glass.
The SUV also features big front door openings to make it easier for you to get in and out of the car. The Nissan Rogue S Krom Edition has a one-of-a-kind grille that is integrated into the front fascia and features foglights. The S Krom also has a daring rear fascia that has 18-inch shiny aluminum-alloy wheels, a center exit exhaust, power outside mirrors that match the body colors, and a rear spoiler that is also painted to match the body design.
The Rogue is built on the Japanese carmaker’s C Platform, where you have high body rigidity because of all the strong steel used in the body to lower the body weight. The Nissan Rogue has a wheelbase that measures 105.9 inches. Overall, it is 182.9 inches long, making it one of the longest compact SUVs around. That extra length also gives the Rogue more spacious rear seat proportions and a longer interior than its competitors.
The inside of a Nissan Rogue is both functional and aesthetic. It has the flexibility because of a huge cargo space that can accommodate 58 cubic feet. The interior features leather-appointed seats, 6-way power driver's seat, and a driver-oriented cockpit. The front seats and mirrors are heated, and a fold-down front passenger seat is also available. That means you can get at least 8.5 feet of front-to-rear cargo space if you should ever have the need to transport long items such as ladders or timber. You also have a 60/40 split-fold bench rear seat, a huge glove compartment and a flexible center console. All of these elements underscore the Rogue’s high functionality.
