Article by Christian A., on December 19, 2011

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles said that only 225 examples of the Caravelle Edition 25 will be offered in the UK. This is a special edition model for Volkswagen’s luxury, executive Caravelle passenger carrying range. All of the vehicles are exclusively finished in Candy White while a Reflex Silver metallic paint is optional.

The Edition 25 model is sure to turn heads due to its one-of-a-kind styling elements. It has been fitted with a modified front bumper with satin black styling accents in the lower sections that are contrasting. It also features xenon headlights with LED running lights and there are black highlights through the length of the vehicle. Side sills and tailgate can be seen on the roof. Its appearance gets a boost from the exclusive satin black 18-inch ‘Edition 25’ design alloy wheels.

The Caravelle Edition 25 is based on the well-appointed SE specification. But it comes with three-zone ‘Climatronic’ air conditioning so that the temperature for their own areas could be adjusted by the driver and the rear passengers. In addition, the Edition 25 gets voice-activated satellite navigation and parking sensors that have a reversing camera.

It also has the Bluetooth telephone preparation and Volkswagen’s Lane Change Assist system to aid in monitoring the blind spots. The Caravelle could accommodate as many as six passengers. A lounge environment is created by a row of seats that turn round to face the rear.

The Caravelle has electric sliding doors with power-latching on each side, making it easy to get in and out. On the interior, there are stylish seats with two-tone leather. With an output of 180 PS, Volkswagen’s robust 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo common rail diesel engine is mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox as standard. Front-wheel drive is offered as standard but buyers can opt for Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.

The Edition 25 can make a zero to 62mph sprint in 11.3 seconds (12.1 4MOTION) and could reach a top speed of 119 mph (117). What makes this special edition model even more amazing is that it returns 34.9 mpg (32.1) on the combined cycle and it has CO2 emissions of just 214 g/km (232). The Caravelle Edition 25 has a starting price of £44,995, including VAT. It can be ordered from any of the Volkswagen Van Centres throughout the country.
