At around 10 am on April 4 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, BMW will unveil the M6 Convertible and X1 Sport Activity Vehicle to the world at the 2012 New York International Auto Show. BMW will also bring the BMW M6 Coupe, BMW X6 M (which makes its debut in North America) and the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe (which debuts in the U.S. auto show) to its stand in New York.
Giving us a glimpse of what’s in store for mobility in the future are the BMW i3 and i8 Concepts. After having been gone for two years, the iconic BMW M6 Convertible and Coupe are set to return, providing more powerful, more athletic, more focused, more luxurious and more efficient than ever.
Since 1987, the M6 brand has impressed consumers with its luxury and everyday practicality of a top range BMW coupe merged with true super-car performance. The all-new BMW M6, which is already in its third generation, will be equipped with a new 560hp M TwinPower Turbo V-8 partnered to a 7-speed M-DCT transmission that could propel them from 0 to 60mph in less than 4.3 seconds.
The much coveted BMW X1 Sport Activity Vehicle will arrive in the U.S. for the first time. Its rising horizontal lines lend it with a sporty, elegant profile. The design of the BMW includes the classic BMW kidney grille, unique headlights and L-shaped taillights – which are typical BMW features. The BMW X1 is the latest BMW vehicle to be powered by TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine which delivers BMW performance with reduced fuel consumption. The updated BMW X1 will be offered in U.S. showrooms starting summer of 2012.
