2013 Ford B-MAX now for sale with a starting price of £12,995 in the UK

The new Ford B-MAX is now for sale with a starting price of £12,995. Deliveries are expected to start in September. What UK drivers get is an amazing recipe of clever design, unmatched economy and advanced small car technology. Its 1.4-litre petrol engine Studio model is priced from £12,995, Zetec models are priced at £15,600 while the range-topping Titanium specification has a starting price of £17,595.

The Ford Easy Access Door System offers new levels of convenience, access and flexibility. It is equipped with conventional, hinged front doors and rear sliding doors, along with a new body design. The traditional central pillar structure is integrated into the front and rear doors instead of being a part of the bodyshell itself. When the front and rear doors are both open, the interior can be easily accessed with a big, clear aperture that has a width of over 1.5m. This is approximately two times the width that rivals offer with their alternative door concepts. As a result, it’s considerably easier to enter or exit the rear seats, attend to kids in child seats, or load and unload shopping.

In particular, Studio is offered with manual five-speed transmission and the 1.4-litre 90PS Duratec engine. Its standard equipment includes body color bumpers, adjustable load floor in luggage compartment, adjustable driver’s seat, rake- and reach-adjustable steering wheel, fold flat front passenger seat, one hand one motion fold flat rear seats, electrically-operated door mirrors and one-touch windows, centre rear seat head restraint, remote central locking, Ford Easy Fuel capless refueling system, low tire pressure Deflation Detection System, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) and Intelligent protection System with front, side, knee and curtain airbags. Zetec is offered in three petrol and one diesel engines such as the new 1.5-litre TDCi and 1.0-litre 100PS EcoBoost. It also comes with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions. Ford SYNC is available in all Zetec launch models at no added cost (usually £250).

The Zetec has the standard features of the Studio as well as 15-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, halogen headlights with LED day running lights, front fog lights, leather trimmed steering wheel and gearshift knob, interior ambient lighting, sunglasses holder, manual air conditioning, child observation mirror, heated windscreen, DAB digital radio/CD with AUX, USB connection and Bluetooth, fuel computer and Thatcham alarm.

The Titanium model is available with three petrol engines such as the 1.0-litre 120PS EcoBoost with stop/start and the 1.6-litre 95PS TDCi engine. Ford SYNC is offered as standard. The added features to Zetec include driver’s and centre rear seat armrests, driver’s seat adjustable lumbar support, cruise control, electronic automatic temperature control, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers, heated front seats, Ford Power Start Button, front and rear carpet floor mats, Sony DAB digital radio/CD, 16-inch 15-spoke alloy wheels and high gloss upper and lower grille surrounds. Drivers would no longer need to worry when streets are crowded or when the parking bays are narrow with these twin sliding rear doors of the Ford B-MAX. Since the front and rear doors could be opened totally independently, the front or rear cabin can be accessed as needed.
