2013 Mercedes-Benz A-Class priced from €23,978

Mercedes-Benz has just announced that the new A-Class will carry a price tag of €23,978.50 (incl. 19% VAT) for the A 180 BlueEFFICIENCY. This model is powered by a 1.6-liter petrol engine delivering 122 hp (90 kW) mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The A 200 BlueEFFICIENCY carries the same engine delivering 156 hp (115 kW) and bolted to a six speed manual transmission.

This model will cost €27,013. The A 250 BlueEFFICIENCY is priced at €33,498 and it is powered by a 2.0-liter engine able to deliver 211 hp (155 kW). The A 250 BlueEFFICIENCY uses a 7-speed automatic transmission. The most expensive model using a petrol engine will be the A 250 Sport, which costs €36,860. This model uses the same 2.0-liter engine with 211 hp and a 7-speed automatic gearbox.

The entry-level A 180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY is powered by a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 109 hp (80 kW) and will cost €26,477. Mercedes-Benz also offers another version of the A 180 CDI powered by a 1.8-liter diesel engine using a 7-speed automatic transmission. The 1.8-liter diesel engine delivers 109 hp (80 kW), but the price will be increased to €28,643.

The most powerful diesel model will be the A 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, powered by a 1.8-liter diesel with 136 hp (100 kW). This model will cost €27,786. In the base configuration, the new 2013 Mercedes-Benz A-Class offers standard features such as air conditioning, Audio 5 USB, electric windows all round, Headlamp Assist and 12-button multifunction steering wheel.

The new A-Class will be available in three appointment lines - "Urban", "Style" and "AMG Sport" – as well as in three design packages - "Night", "Exclusive" and "AMG Exclusive". As an option, Mercedes-Benz offers an intelligent Intelligent Light System (€1666), electrically adjustable front seats with memory function (from €398.65) or dashboard finished in ARTICO man-made leather (part of the Exclusive package costing from €1249.50). "Urban", "Style" and "AMG Sport" appointment lines (from €297.50) offer sports seats with integrated head restraints and contrasting stitching, and can be combined with all engine variants.

Further sporty details designed to appeal to the vehicle's young target group include designo seat belts in red (€357) or silver instrument cluster with red dial pointers (part of the Urban and AMG Sport lines as well as the Exclusive and AMG Exclusive packages). All engines of the new A-Class feature the ECO start/stop function as standard. The DISTRONIC PLUS adaptive cruise control system is available as an option (€1023.40).

The "Drive Kit Plus for the iPhone" will be available from €690.20. The Drive Kit Plus for the iPhone can already be used with the Audio 20 CD (€416.50). Also available for the Audi 20 CD radio is the Becker MAP PILOT (€856.80). The multimedia system COMAND Online is available from €3153.50 and will provide internet access via a web-enabled mobile phone, plus various Mercedes-Benz services on the move.
