Scion revealed the 2013 tC Release Series 8.0 (tC RS 8.0) and announced that the new model will be on display in the Scion pit area at the next round of Formula DRIFT in Monroe, Washington on July 22-23. Limited to just 2,000 units, the 2013 Scion tC Release Series 8.0 comes exclusively in Absolutely Red exterior paint with side mirrors in gloss black and matching black 18-inch alloy wheels.

The design of the car was upgraded with a unique five-piece body kit inspired by Troy Sumitomo of Five Axis. The kit includes front and rear lips, side skirts and a new rear spoiler. Moreover, we find a a couple of performance parts from Toyota Racing Development (TRD) such as lowering springs and an exhaust system.

The sporty theme is continued at the interior, where the vehicle features sporty seats wrapped in texturized black fabric with red stitching. Same red stitching is found on the leather wrapped steering wheel.

Because we are talking about a limited edition, all the models will feature an individually numbered badge commemorating the unique model. Pricing starts at $21,815 for the model equipped with the six-speed manual gearbox and at $22,865 when using the six-speed automatic transmission. Still, you will have to add the delivery, processing and handling fee of $730.

Taking inspiration from the Scion FUSE concept which styling is also penned by Calty, the new Scion tC comes with a bold design that bears a more assertive stance. This high-impact sports coupe boasts of a design derived from that of a racing helmet – simple, bold and athletic. This helmet-like boldness is represented by the sleek shape of the Scion tC’s cabin, as accentuated by its wrap-around window graphics.

Its sleek cabin shape is complemented by its strong and imposing front end as defined by its sleek front grille and projector headlamps. The Scion tC’s wider and lower stance is boosted by the coupe’s protruding fender flares. The coupe also features muscular rear fenders as well as new rear lamps flowing into the shape of the trunk. Available exterior color finishes for the new Scion tC include Black, Cement, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Nautical Blue Metallic, Silver Streak Mica, Sizzling Crimson Mica and Super White.

Calty also designed the new Scion tC to be sporty inside too. As a result of this impressive design work, the interior of the new Scion tC features a sophisticated, functional and athletic appearance. Its front cabin features a driver-focused cockpit that also provides enough room for the front passenger.
