2013 Toyota Proace priced from £22,300 in the UK

Article by Christian A., on April 4, 2013

When Toyota’s new Proace van starts selling this July in the UK, there will be 10 versions to choose from, while the base version will start from £22,300. This means that customers are likely to find something that appeals to them when it comes to load capacity, payload and performance. There are nine panel vans that are available in two vehicle lengths and heights and have payloads of either one or 1.2 tons.

There will also be three types of diesel engines offered. Toyota will offer a Proace crew cab van that can seat as many as six people. The Proace Crew Cab is offered in a single configuration -- in L2H1. This is equipped with the 126bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine. There are numerous combinations offered for the panel van. The standard wheelbase (L1) models have an overall measurement of 4,805mm and come with a 3,000mm wheelbase.

Meanwhile, the longer versions have a length of 5,135mm long with a 3,122mm wheelbase. Its standard height (H1) is 1,942mm, but the L2 wheelbase is available with a higher roof (2,276mm).

The L1H1 specification has a total load space of 5m3. On the other hand, the L2H1 vans have 6m3, with the L2H2 boasting 7m3. Proace is available with any of three efficient, Euro 5-compliant diesel engines. The 89bhp 1.6-litre engine produces 180Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Furthermore, there are two 2.0-litre diesel units available. They offer 126 and 161bhp and peak torques of 320 and 340Nm respectively.

These two engines are matched with a six-speed manual transmission. The 2.0-litre versions of ProAce offer a claimed driving range of over 770 miles before refuelling due to an 80-litre fuel tank capacity and combined cycle fuel consumption figures of 44.1mpg. Toyota kept it simple when it came to what the Proace came equipped with. Toyota surely didn’t compromise comfort, convenience, or practicality.

The standard design offers sliding doors on both sides, a set of 16-inch alloy wheels with wheel caps, fog lamps, daytime running lights and heated electric door mirrors. Buyers can request for either plain or glazed double steel rear doors.

The rear windows can be heated and come with a wash-wipe system. It also features air conditioning, bluetooth, electric windows, and the option of either a single front passenger seat or two-person bench. For safety, all the Proace versions are installed with driver and front passenger airbags, ABS and Vehicle Stability Control.
