The sixth generation Fiat Ducato will feature this year a new exterior style that integrates modern ‘car design’ to the light commercial vehicle segment. The Ducato now prides of all-new front end that includes new headlights with integrated daytime running lights, LED on Tecnico models, and a bold new grille design that is finished in “chrome shadow” or “piano black,” depending on the model.

The 2014 Fiat Ducato boasts of new front bumpers that make it look more muscular. Since the bumpers are comprised of four sections, they are easier to fix as repairs will only be made on damaged portions only, thereby helping cut running costs.

Fiat Professional also implemented innovative measures to further cut running costs like headlamps placed on sliding guides and a new single-piece bonnet that allows greater access to the engine compartment.

Also helping save running costs – especially towards fuel usage – is the shape of the 2014 Ducato, which results to class-leading aerodynamic efficiency. All Fiat Ducato models are powered by fuel-efficient engines paired to a standard six-speed manual transmission.

The entry-level 110hp 2.3 MultiJet II 110 returns 44.1 mpg on the NEDC cycle and emits 170g/km of carbon dioxide. Both the 2.3 MultiJet II 130 (providing 130hp and 320Nm) and the 2.3 MultiJet II 150 (produces 150hp and 350 Nm) could return better fuel economy and emissions numbers when fitted with optional Start&Stop, improving the figures to 45.6 mpg and 164g/km.

The 3.0 MultiJet Power 180, which provides 180hp of output and 400Nm of torque, returns 36.7 mpg on the NEDC cycle and emits 203g/km of carbon dioxide. All engines in the Fiat Ducato range boasts of 30,000-mile service intervals that helps cut service bills, which means the vehicle spends more time cruising the road than for maintenance.

Start&Stop, which could improve fuel efficiency in city driving by up to 15 percent, is available as optional on the 2.3 MultiJet 130 and 150. The new Ducato has a starting price of £19,995, and features high level of content. FIAT Ducato chassis cab, on the other hand, has starting price of £22,845. [source: Fiat]
