Land Rover’s new Range Rover Sport is now available for the United Kingdom with a starting price of £51,550. It will join the Range Rover and Range Rover Evoque as part of the latest offerings from Land Rover. Tagged as the ultimate sports SUV and considered a fine example of Land Rover’s contemporary design and engineering capabilities, the Range Rover Sports can now be ordered, with first deliveries expected to commence in the third quarter of 2013.

The Range Rover Sports will initially be available in these equipment grades -- SE, HSE, HSE Dynamic and Autobiography Dynamic – and in three outstanding engine -- TDV6 (258hp), SDV6 (292hp) and the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 petrol (510hp). It is currently the brand’s most technology-packed vehicle, thanks to a number of installed features. These features include new Wade Sensing system, which monitors depth when the vehicle is driving through water.

In fact, the Range Rover Sport gained an extra 150mm in its wading capability to 850mm. It also comes with Rover's park assist feature, which now includes ‘Park Exit’ and ‘Perpendicular Park’ systems. Also installed in the Range Rover Sport are state-of-the-art audio systems developed by Meridian. Customers could select any of the three available audio systems, including the 1,700W Signature Reference system featuring 23 speakers for the ultimate surround sound experience.

Thanks to the use of an aluminum platform and lightweight technology, the new Ranger Rover Sport is up to 420kg lighter than the outgoing model. The use of these technologies also allowed for better on-road and off-road dynamics. The sport SUV also features the Torque Vectoring control package that upgrades its already excellent on-road handling. In terms of size, the new Ranger Rover Sport is just around 62mm longer than its predecessor, which allowed it to retain its compact dimensions for a better sporting profile.

Furthermore, the SUV’s longer wheelbase means that customers could opt for an additional third-row of rear seats. All equipment grades boast of standard features that indicate the Range Rover Sports’ luxury and premium quality. For instance, the SE grade features leather upholstery, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers as well as DAB digital audio, a power tailgate and intelligent stop-start.

It also includes two-zone climate control, heated front seats, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, HD navigation and four-corner air suspension with automatic leveling. Other standard features include Terrain Response and Say-What-You-See voice control. The SE grade is available with a starting price of £51,550. The HSE grade, meanwhile, builds on the SE package and now includes 20-inch alloy wheels, Oxford perforated leather seats with 14-way electric front seat adjustment with memory function and heated rear seats.

Also available as standard on the HSE grade power steering column adjustment, front fog lights, paddle shift controls and heated windscreen as well as rear view camera and aluminum Range Rover tread plates. Prices for the HSE grade start from £59,995. HSE Dynamic, on the other hand, adds stainless steel pedals, a bright finish for the twin tailpipes and a gloss black grille and vents.

Also added are 21-inch alloys, illuminated tread plates, twin-speed transfer box and torque vectoring. Terrain Response 2 Auto is likewise included in the HSE Dynamic grade, which starts at £64,995. At the top is the Autobiography Dynamic grade, which features as standard the following: High Beam Assist for the headlights; configurable interior mood lighting; Meridian Surround Sound audio system and illuminated treadplates.

It also features adaptive cruise control with Queue Assist, and an advanced preventative safety package like emergency braking and active front seatbelts. The Autobiography Dynamic grade carries a starting price of £74,995.

Aside from these standard features, customers could also equip their Range Rover Sport with optional features and accessories. In fact, customers could choose from 11 interior color themes; 17 exterior paint finishes; four aluminum finishes; three headlining colors; seven alloy wheel designs; three contrast colors for the roof; and three finishes for exterior accents.
