Seat officially unveiled the all-new 2014 Leon ST, the third member of the new Leon family which now comprises five-door hatchback, three-door SC and the five-door ST estate. Of course, the design of the car is not new as we showed you the first photos with the new car last Sunday. As a result, we will take a closer look t the engines.
The 2014 Seat will offer fuel-efficient TDI and TSI engines with displacements ranging from 1.2 to 2.0 litres and output from 86 hp to 184 hp. All the engines are available with Start/Stop and Energy Recovery systems. According to the official press release, the 1.2-liter TSI petrol engine is offered with 86 hp and 105 hp, while the 1.4-liter TSI engine develops 122 hp or 144 hp.
If you want the FR model you will also get the 1.8-liter TSI engine with 180 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The 1.6-liter TDI engine delivers 90 hp and 230 Nm of torque, while the 2.0-liter TDI has 150 hp. The FR model is also available with a 2.0 TDI engine that develops 184 hp and 380 Nm of torque.
The 2014 Seat Leon ST has a total weight of 1,233 kg, making it a mere 45 kg heavier than the five-door Leon. Moreover it boasts a 587-litre boot, and with the rear seats folded flat its load capacity extends to 1,470 litres. For the FR versons, Seat is offering a new Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC) system with three different driving modes that can be selected via the SEAT Drive Profile. [source: Seat]
