2015 Cadillac Escalade teased ahead of its October debut

Article by Christian Andrei, on October 1, 2013

General Motors has been releasing teasers for the 2015 Cadillac Escalade before its scheduled unveiling on October 7. From the three images released of the redesigned luxury SUV, we see that it has a new bold headlight and badge. On YouTube, there are several videos of the 2015 Escalade. The videos show how the upholstery on this car has been stitched.

We also see a part of this car in clay form. Overall, the 2015 Escalade is about all-American luxury, suggesting that this model has become even more upscale. The 2014 Escalade has a starting price of $67,970, which includes destination costs that amount to $995. Cadillac won't be introducing the 2015 Escalade at any of the upcoming auto shows. Instead, it will make its debut at an event in New York City.

The 2015 Escalade is expected to go up against the Lexus LX 570 and the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. It will be lighter and offer better fuel economy. The EPA said that the 2014 Escalade 2WD is capable of returning 14 mpg in city driving and 18 mpg on the highway.

The aging GM SUV is due to be updated. This year, Escalade sales have fallen 5%. For the calendar-year-to-date, a total of 7,985 Escalades have been sold. In comparison, 8,381 units have been sold for the same period in 2012.
