We heard from our sources that the Mustang SVO is making a comeback. It’s not exactly the most obvious model to be revived because it actually didn’t get high sales in the 1980s. But what was remarkable about the model is that it was powered by a 2.3-liter forced-induced engine. The recent report indicated that the 2.3-liter displacement will come in EcoBoost form and will be used in the 2015 Ford Mustang.
The report also stated that the EcoBoost V6 will go under this bonnet while the 5.0-liter V8 is available for those who want something old-school that will get a boost in economy from getting direct-injection technology. Motor Authority also said that the 2.3-liter engine will be offered in the Lincoln 2015 lineup too.
While it is possible that a 2.3-liter EcoBoost will be installed in the 2015 Ford Mustang, some say that it’s unlikely since a forced-induction 2.0-liter will deliver 247 hp in the new Ford Focus ST.
It may even get more power if Ford decides on a new RS. It’s speculated that the 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 is being developed for both front- and rear-wheel drive vehicles as well as for the Edge crossover SUV and the Fusion sedan. Another possibility is for Ford to use this engine for a Ranger replacement.

Nair continued by saying that the Mustang is not simply a car but rather it is Ford’s heart and soul. Meanwhile, Ford global marketing, sales and service executive vice president Jim Farley shared that the new Mustang was developed with the aim of making a more modern interpretation.
This car has been an icon for the U.S. auto industry and has become the symbol of optimists for many people worldwide. The use of the clean-sheet design allows the fastback and convertible versions of the Mustang to preserve some of the important design elements like having a short deck in the rear and the long sculpted hood, which brings to mind the brand’s basic characters, rounded off with a modern application.
Moray Callum, Ford executive director, design, The Americas, revealed that when it comes to making a first impression, there is one chance to get it right and once one sees the new model, one will immediately see that it is indeed a Mustang. Some of the significant design features on the new Mustang include having wider track and wider fenders in the rear. Its stance is not only wider but lower as well since the height of the roof has been lowered.
It also has the tri-bar taillamps which come in 3D and bear the sequential turn lights. The trademark shark-bite on the front fascia and its trapezoidal grille now have a modern execution. The Mustang fastback version now follows a smoother profile due the rear glass and the windshield being sloped more steeply. The interior of the convertible version is quieter and gets a more luxurious appearance due to the use of the multilayer insulated cloth top, equipped as standard.
The new top is able to fold faster, twice as fast in fact, when compared to the previous model. Its profile becomes sleeker as well. The cockpit is clearly inspired by those in the aviation field and everything that the driver may need like controls and information are all made available.
The interior also shows that there is a high-level of craftsmanship, the best ever for a Mustang. In addition to the instrumentation being made clear and larger, it also allows the information to be shown to the driver’s front.
Though the interior does have extra space, ergonomics has been improved even further. Helping ensure better control are the knobs and tactile switches. One of the reasons why there is extra room is because of the new suspension in the rear and the extra width. This helps to enhance the hip room and shoulder room. Its trunk has a more functional shape this time and can even fit two golf bags.
