After showing the Multibeam LED headlamps, Daimler officially introduced the 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS Facelift. As expected, the new car comes with a redesigned front section that consists of a new front grille, redesigned headlights as well as a brand new bumper. At the rear, we find redesigned taillights as well as a new rear bumper.
Both the CLS Coupe and CLS Shooting Brake come as standard with all-LED headlamps, while as an option the German manufacturer offers the Multibeam LED headlamps. As we said, the Multibeam LED headlamps is similar to Audi’s Matrix LED headlights but as usual, the United States will not receive them due to the rules that need separate high-beam and low-beam modes.
Each headlight features 24 high-performance LEDs, offering the best visibility on bends and roundabouts. The roundabout light is unique as it activates the cornering light function modules on the left or right before entering a roundabout in order to provide the best visibility. The headlamps are connected to the navigation system that provides the details of the locations of roundabouts along the route.
The interior was also enhanced and the first thing you see is the new free-standing colour display with its 20.3 cm screen diagonal (8-inch). Other interior features include a redesigned three-spoke sports steering wheel and a host of exquisite details. The central control panel in the centre console now features four buttons, instead of two.
In addition, five interior colours are available as well as six trim finishes. The new AMG Line Plus joins the Exterior Sports package and AMG Line, while the Night package gives the customers a further choice at the end of the year. Mercedes-Benz will also offer new design interior packages.
