2015 Vencer Sarthe is our kind of Dutch supercar

Article by Christian A., on September 19, 2014

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the 2015 Vencer Sarthe, the production version of the prototype version that was unveiled last year at Top Marques exhibition in Monaco. Priced at a hefty 270,882 euros excluding taxes, the vehicle will be available in China and Europe, but we might see its beautiful design also in United States.

The impressive supercar is powered by a supercharged 6.3-liter V8 engine codenamed V63SC that generates 612 hp (457 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 838 Nm (618 lb-ft) of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine is bolted to a six-speed manual transmission and is mounted deep in the chassis in order to ensure a lower centre of gravity.

What’s more interesting is that the Vencer Sarthe comes with a lightweight chrome-molybdenum chassis with honeycomb structure and full carbon fiber bodywork. Vencer says that the Sarthe has an optimal weight distribution (45%/55%) and speaking of weight, the Verthe weighs only 1,390 kg (3,064 lbs).

In addition, the supercar comes fitted with a hydraulic steering feel, a Torsen limited slip differential and optimized suspension as well as an optional four-wheel hydraulic lift system. Vencer says that the Sarthe can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds, while top speed is 338 km/h or 210 mph.

Open the door and you will see interior panels made out of carbon giber for weight reduction, Alcantara, leather and plenty of bespoke options. The company says that the interior is completely new and offers wide door sills, close-fitting cockpit and a central driving position as well as a Central Information Display.

When it comes to design, the 2015 Vencer Sarthe (named after the “La Sarthe” race track), comes with a new quarter glass design, open air-flow C-pillars, a new engine cover, a set of aerodynamic front splitter as well as an automatic rear spoiler. [source: Vencer]
