Jaguar to build 2,000 examples of exclusive F-PACE First Edition

Article by Christian A., on September 15, 2015

Jaguar will be releasing an exclusive special edition of the F-PACE -- the Jaguar F-PACE First Edition. With just 2,000 examples set to be produced and available globally, this edition of the F-PACE is truly an exclusive one.

This athletic special edition pays tribute to the C-X17 Concept vehicle, which was the main inspiration for the Jaguar F-PACE. In fact, the First Edition could be considered as the purest depiction of the C-X17 as it features design details exclusive only to the concept.

Customers are treated to luxurious design and technology features seen on the F-PACE such as the In Control Touch Pro infotainment system as well as sports car-derived performance technology including Adaptive Dynamics.

In Control Touch Pro is Jaguar’s super-fast and super-intuitive infotainment system that features contemporary graphics and a 10-inch tablet-style touchscreen. Complementing In Control Touch Pro is an array of specially developed apps as well as a WIFI hotspot that could simultaneously connect eight devices.

On the other hand, the concept’s sporty look is further enhanced by the S model body kit that also comes as standard. Powering the Jaguar F-PACE First Edition is any of the 3.0-litre V6 300PS Diesel or the 3.0-litre V6 380PS Supercharged Petrol engines paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and features All-Wheel Drive.

According to Gerd Mauser, Chief Marketing Officer for Jaguar Land Rover, the growing interest of people for a production version of the C-X17 has pushed the carmaker to create the F-PACE First Edition.

He noted that with such incredible amount of interest from customers, the carmaker expects to sell out all the 2,000 examples of the Jaguar F-PACE First Edition.

Exterior Design

The First Edition is offered in two distinct colors -- Caesium Blue or Halycon Gold – both of which reflect the C-X17's original two finishes. Customers could also opt for Rhodium Silver or Ultimate Black.

Moreover, the First Edition features distinct design details like Houndstooth-embossed Windsor Leather Sports seats, a Gloss Black trim finisher with British Houndstooth pattern, and special carpet mats.

The First Edition also features 22-inch Double Helix Alloy Wheels with grey finish and contrast inserts.

Also coming as standard for the Jaguar F-PACE First Edition are luxurious features like a sliding panoramic roof, red brake calipers, illuminated metal tread plates, full-LED headlights with LED 'J' blade, configurable interior mood lighting, and Daytime Running Lights.

Jaguar has announced the Jaguar F-PACE First Edition – an exclusive special edition F-PACE, strictly limited to just 2,000 vehicles globally, with only 200 available in the UK.

Gerd Mauser, Chief Marketing Officer for Jaguar Land Rover, said:

“Two years ago, Jaguar revealed the C-X17, right here in Frankfurt. Since that time we have been inundated with people asking us to make it and it was this growing interest that inspired us to create the F-PACE First Edition - a Special Edition to celebrate the C-X17 concept.

“With only 2,000 units available globally, we expect the Jaguar F-PACE First Edition to sell out – we are receiving an incredible amount of interest from customers who want to be the first and who want the best.”

F-PACE First Edition models get a unique paint colour: the stunning Caesium Blue that featured on the original C-X17 concept.

Further unique design details include special 22-inch Double Helix Alloy Wheels with grey finish and contrast inserts, a unique interior with Houndstooth embossed Windsor Leather Sports seats, special carpet mats and a Gloss Black trim finisher, which also features the modern yet quintessentially British Houndstooth pattern.

In addition to the unique features, Jaguar’s designers have hand-picked their favourite F-PACE design and technology options to make the First Edition the epitome of high-specification luxury. These include Jaguar’s superb, new and intuitive infotainment system – InControl Touch Pro – and sports car-derived performance technology including Adaptive Dynamics.

Red brake calipers, full-LED headlights with LED ‘J’ blade Daytime Running Lights, panoramic roof, illuminated metal tread plates and configurable interior mood lighting are amongst the other luxurious features also included as standard. The sporty look is completed by the S model body kit, which comes as standard.

The Jaguar F-PACE First Edition comes with the 3.0-litre V6 300PS diesel engine with eight-speed automatic transmission and All-Wheel Drive and costs £65,275.

Jaguar Land Rover UK Managing Director Jeremy Hicks said: “F-PACE First Edition is the ultimate F-PACE, with all the style, performance, technology, luxury and exclusivity that make Jaguar cars so exciting. With only 200 models available in the UK, we anticipate it selling-out very quickly.”
