Polestar launches line of performance parts for Volvo S60, V40, V60 and XC60

Owners of Volvo cars who want to boost the performance of their cars for that added driving pleasure would surely love the new customization options now available. Volvo subsidiary Polestar Performance Parts recently unveiled a wide range of enhancements for the Volvo S60, V40, V60 and XC60 models.

The numerous enhancement options being offered include chassis parts, exhaust, interior and exterior details designed to improve driving experience while reflecting owners' preferences. Polestar Chief Operating Officer Niels Möller explained that for a long time, the company has known of a strong demand for their products from Volvo owners all over the world.

This time, the company is happy to oblige these loyal customers by developing these enhancements aimed to improve driving pleasure, performance and handling of their cars. With Polestar's and motorsport partner Cyan Racing's 20-year motorsport experience, all Polestar Performance Parts were designed under the philosophy "Made to Perform."

Polestar R&D Director Henrik Fries explained that the company's own experience, in addition to racing partner Cyan Racing's, gave them sufficient track exposure that translates to a more balanced and precise car capable of giving its driver maximum control in all driving scenarios.

These hard-earned lessons were applied to the development of this new range of Polestar Performance Parts as these were created under the same philosophy. Volvo owners have the option of getting the complete Polestar Performance Parts package, which includes wheels and tyres, intake and exhaust, chassis parts and interior and exterior enhancement parts.

Owners would surely love the synergy all these components will create providing a more exciting driving experience, most notable when combined with the Polestar Performance Optimization. However, these enhancements may be purchased separately, should the owner prefer a more selective approach.

The same high standards in creating Volvo cars were used in the development and testing of these Polestar Performance Parts ensuring a perfect fit and finish to the cars. In addition, installing these parts will not affect the Volvo factory warranty, a feature that is undoubtedly very important for additional peace of mind.

Prices are still unannounced but these Polestar Performance Parts are slated for to be available through Volvo dealers by April. In addition, the company plans to introduce Polestar Performance Parts in other models in the future.

Polestar introduces a whole new line of high-performance products in the form of Polestar Performance Parts, offering even more driving pleasure to Volvo drivers.

All Polestar Performance Parts are designed under the philosophy "Made to Perform", fully utilising the 20-year motorsport experience of the engineers and racing drivers from Polestar and its motorsport partner Cyan Racing.

"What we learned on the racing circuits with our colleagues at Cyan Racing is that championships are not won in a single lap. The secret of our success on the tracks is in creating balanced and precise cars that are predictable for the driver to control in all situations. Lessons learned on the tracks are transferred directly into the development of our road cars and performance products. The new range of Polestar Performance Parts is no exception – they are designed and developed with the very same philosophy," said Henrik Fries, R&D Director of Polestar.

The Polestar Performance Parts can be purchased as a complete package, including chassis parts, wheels and tyres, intake and exhaust, as well as exterior and interior parts. All of these components will together create a more compelling driving experience, especially in combination with the Polestar Performance Optimisation, and can be bought in separate packages as well.

All Polestar Performance Parts are developed and tested together with Volvo Cars to the same high standards as all other products. This process ensures a perfect fit and finish, with no impact on the Volvo factory warranty, while most importantly increasing driving pleasure.

The Polestar Performance Parts will be available from participating Volvo dealers in April. Prices are yet to be announced. Further Volvo models will be included in the Polestar Performance Parts range in due course.

For the 2015 financial year, Volvo Car Group recorded an operating profit of 6,620 MSEK (2,128 MSEK in 2014). Revenue over the period amounted to 164,043 MSEK (137,590 MSEK).
