FIAT Professional reveals new Talento model

Article by Andrew Christian, on March 30, 2016

FIAT Professional has revealed a new model that is expected to be the best partner for professionals whether they are driving on major highways or on city streets. The new Talento also offers a large load capacity and has both the versatility and the capability to adjust in order to meet the various needs of the customers.

The name is the Italian word for "talent", which is an ancient coin, and brings to mind the distinctive qualities of this vehicle as well as the principles of FIAT Professional as it relates to dependability and value.

Moreover, the name brings with it a high symbolic value and reminds everyone what it can do. Looking at it from the perspective of design, it is clear that the Talento, while compact, is well-proportioned.

An example of this is the forward- stretching windscreen which manages to gracefully connect with the short bonnet to result in giving the front end a dynamic and imposing appearance. The grille meanwhile wraps itself around the headlights to give the appearance of a mask.

When combined with the bumper, the whole grid displays a striking and solid look. In addition to the aesthetics, it also has a function which is to provide protection. The rear end on the other hand has been squared allowing for high load capacity and enough inner room.

It also enables the Talento to show a broad stance that conveys strength and stability. Overall, the design is upstanding and uses clear-cut and bold lines, which are characteristic of FIAT’s Professional range. Powering the Talento is the efficient turbo and the twin-turbo diesel engine paired with the six-speed manual transmission.

This pairing manages to deliver maximum power output of 145 hp. The Talento is therefore a functional vehicle that manages to maximize the value of the customer’s investment, time, and work.

It does this by concentrating on customer needs and it does not matter whether the same customers drive a flat bed, people-carrier, crew cab, or even a van.

In the FIAT Professional line-up, the Talento is placed between the Ducato and the Doblò Cargo. Orders for the Talento will be accepted starting mid-May. Final pricing as well as the final specifications will be released prior to its official launch in the U.K.

FIAT PROFESSIONAL UNVEILS NEW TALENTO

FIAT Professional introduces Talento, the new model with a generous load capacity that is the ideal workmate for professionals on city streets and major roads alike thanks to its great versatility and ability to adapt to the most diverse needs of its customers. Its name – Talento – evokes the innate qualities of the vehicle and the concept of traditional FIAT Professional value and dependability by making reference to the name of an ancient coin – the Talent (Talento in Italian). The moniker has high symbolic value and suggests what the vehicle can do, its abilities and – in short – its talent.

From a design standpoint, the new Talento is compact and well-proportioned: the forward- stretching windscreen connects elegantly to the short bonnet and the overall effect is one of an imposing and dynamic front end. The grille is designed to wrap around the headlights and form a mask that together with the bumper and the grid conveys a solid and striking appearance, while offering a functional element of protection at the same time. The squared-off rear end allows for ample inner space and a high load capacity while giving the Talento a broad stance that exudes stability and strength. As a whole, the design is upright with bold, clear-cut lines in tune with the new family feeling of the FIAT Professional range.

The new model is equipped with reliable, powerful and efficient turbo and twin-turbo diesel engines with six-speed manual gearboxes and power outputs of up to 145hp. The result is a functional vehicle that helps customersmaximise the value of their work, time and investment by focusing on their needs regardless of whether they drive a van, people-carrier, crew cab or flat bed. With the new Talento, which is positioned between the Doblò Cargo and Ducato in the line-up, the FIAT Professionalrange is now even more capable of providing just the right vehicle for each and every customer’s specific needs.

Orders for FIAT Professional’s new Talento open in mid-May with final pricing and specifications to be announced closer to the vehicle’s UK launch.
