350 cars join Lamborghini 50th Anniversary Grand Tour

Around 350 cars joined the Lamborghini 50th Anniversary Grand Tour on the convoy that started 10:00 am on May 8, 2013. The gathering – comprised of 320 registered participants and around 30 courtesy cars for the press and guests -- is expected to be around 4 kilometers long and has a combined power of 190,000 hp.

Around 700 pilots and co-pilots are involved in the event, and they will converge in the parc fermè at Piazza Castello in Milan in front of the Sforzesco Castle. From the eve of the event, Lamborghini fans and enthusiasts have witnessed the unloading of cars at the meeting place as participants drive to the meeting point.

Organizers held a press conference at the Pirelli Foundation to announce the start of the Grand Tour, which was organized to celebrate the carmaker’s 50th anniversary, and to highlight the collaboration between the two companies since 1963.

The Lamborghini 50th Anniversary Grand Tour features 350 participating Lamborghinis from 29 different countries of origin. The participants travelled to Italy to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the carmaker. The United Kingdom accounted for 71 participants for the Grand Tour, while Italy, Germany and Switzerland have over 30 participants each.

The United States and China have 21 and 17 participants respectively. Other countries of origin includes Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Principato di Monaco, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, The Netherlands, Tunisia and Ukraine.
