6 of the Most Anticipated Cars at the 2016 New York Auto Show

Article by Christian Andrei, on March 23, 2016

Super luxurious vehicles like the Porsche 718 Boxster, the Spyker C8 Preliator, and the Koenigsegg Regera are among the attractions at the upcoming 2016 New York Auto Show. But it’s not just these impressive supercars from the iconic car manufacturers that are drawing attention.

In fact, some of the most-awaited vehicles will be making their debut at the show. Here are six of the cars that no one should miss viewing at the New York Auto Show.

There you have it, a list of must-sees during the New York Auto Show. Make sure to take down some notes about these vehicles when you have time so that you can compare which of these cars make into your Car Bucket List.

2017 Toyota Highlander

First up is the 2017 Toyota Highlander. It was first introduced online and is set to make its physical debut to the public during the New York Auto Show.

The new Toyota Highlander is equipped with a new V6 engine for more power and better fuel efficiency, as well as a new SE trim level that will keep Toyota’s SUV game up until the release of its redesigned version.

Toyota Prius Concept

Toyota has also kept its fans’ curiosity burning with its Mystery Concept. The company said that the Mystery concept set to debut on the 23rd of March is “the next mechanical marvel in the Prius lineup.” There has been speculation of a next generation Prius plug-in or maybe (hopefully) the next Prius V.

2017 Subaru Impreza

Not much has been expected from Subaru’s 2017 Impreza but the Japanese automaker has definitely stepped it up. It now has a meatier front end taking after the Subaru WRX with a more defined bracket LED lighting. Not that much change for the Impreza but we sure hope this IMPREZes Subaru’s avid fans.

2017 Buick Encore

Earlier this year, German automobile manufacturer Opel revealed its newest line up for SUVs, the Mokka X. Later did we realize that Mokka X was just an opening act for the newest Buick Encore.

There is not much information released for the Buick Encore but rumours and some leaked shots show that for the unfamiliar Buick Encore audience, there won’t be much of a difference between the two aside from the badges. Let’s just hope that in the New York Auto Show, the Buick Encore will showcase more of its hidden prowess.

2017 Acura MDX

It has been a while since the Acura MDX, America’s best-selling three-row SUV, was last updated. Now, out with the old and in with the new, Acura has finally let go of its chrome beak that used to bring in the bad luck for luxury SUVs since 2009.

Also, the Acura now has a tougher, angular styling that was showcased in Detroit. We’re expecting so much from you Acura MDX! Don’t let us down!

2017 Mitsubishi Outlander

Finally, after a long break, Mitsubishi is now ready to showcase the Outlander plug-in hybrid in the U.S. market. Mitsubishi is now aiming to capture the lower end of the plug-in SUV market, a different path from its SUV competitors like Volvo, BMW, Tesla and Audi.

The Mitsubishi Outlanger PHEV is already on sale in England where it is said to be priced at around $44,000 - which is $24,000 cheaper than the Volvo XC90 T8.
