Alfa Romeo 4C Spider added to Hagerty’s 'Hot List' of future collectible vehicles

Article by Christian Andrei, on February 11, 2016

Hagerty, one of the top insurance providers for classic vehicles as well as host to the largest network of classic car owners, has added the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider into its privileged list of future collectible vehicles. The so-called Hagerty’s Hot List is comprised of most collectible cars under $100,000 that should be purchased today because of their probable high value future.

All vehicles selected into the Hot List are determined to be capable of delivering the joy of driving today and of continuing their owner’s love of driving, thereby having the most likelihood of becoming a collectible in the future.

Alfa Romeo 4C Spider fits that depiction, thanks to its perfect blend of Italian design and handcraftsmanship as well as supercar-like performance and race-derived technologies. McKeel Hagerty, chief executive of Hagerty, remarked that while vehicles are becoming larger and more sophisticated, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider remains extremely light and simple while offering a level of fun at par with more exotic and more expensive vehicles.

Reid Bigland, Head of Alfa Romeo North America, remarked that the marquee is honored to have its Alfa Romeo 4C Spider included in Hagerty’s Hot List of future collectible vehicles, which confirms that alluring Italian design, a mid-engine setup, a carbon fiber chassis and superior driving dynamics would never “go out of favor.”

For 2016, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider could be further enhanced with more personalization options, each working to further improve the roadster’s Italian styling, performance and technology. For instance, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider could be fitted with the all-new carbon fiber halo that should further enhance its looks while emphasizing its exclusive carbon-fiber monocoque chassis as well as windshield frame.

Clients may avail of a new Carbon Fiber Trim Package that offers lightweight material appointments on the roadster’s instrument panel and shift bezels, instrument cluster surround and vent surrounds – thereby making its cockpit more exclusive.

Furthermore, Alfa Romeo is now offering a premium leather interior for the 4C Spider, featuring a Black leather interior detailed with Tobacco accent stitching as well as Tobacco and Black sport seats. Alfa Romeo also has something to offer to motorsports enthusiasts – an all-new Akrapovič dual-mode exhaust system with the marquee signature sound.

This dual-mode exhaust system was developed in close collaboration between Alfa Romeo and Akrapovič. It includes a link pipe with resonator and computer-optimized asymmetrical mufflers, as well as carbon fiber bezel encasing the dual exhaust tips.

This dual-mode exhaust system from Akrapovič is directly connected to the four Alfa DNA selector drive modes – thereby providing optimum Alfa Romeo audio in Dynamic and Race modes, and a less aggravating sound in Natural and All-weather modes.

HAGERTY ADDS ALFA ROMEO 4C SPIDER TO ‘HOT LIST’ OF FUTURE COLLECTIBLE VEHICLES

With racing heritage, style and advanced technologies, Alfa Romeo vehicles have always been one of the most desired among collectors and enthusiasts, and now the classic car experts at Hagerty are highlighting the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider’s stand-out combination of Italian design and handcraftsmanship, race-inspired technologies and supercar level performance – by adding the open-air two-seat sports car to its Hot List of future collectible vehicles.

“At a time when many vehicles are growing increasingly larger and more sophisticated, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider offers a refreshing alternative with an extremely lightweight and simple roadster,” said McKeel Hagerty, CEO of Hagerty. “It provides the same amount of fun as far more exotic and pricier vehicles.”

The 2016 Hagerty Hot List represents the most collectible cars under $100,000 to buy today. In order to be selected by Hagerty experts for their annual Hot List, a vehicle must deliver the joy of driving today, will continue to further every gearhead's love of driving and become collectible in the future.

“We are honored that our Alfa Romeo 4C Spider was named to Hagerty’s Hot List of future collectible vehicles,” said Reid Bigland, Head of Alfa Romeo North America. “This recognition is also confirmation that a carbon fiber chassis, mid-engine setup, incredible driving dynamics and seductive Italian design will never go out of favor.”

Adding excitement and further collectability for 2016, Alfa Romeo is offering even more personalization options, which amplify the 4C Spider’s advanced technology, race-inspired performance and seductive Italian style.

Further highlighting Alfa Romeo’s use of state-of-the-art carbon fiber technology, the all-new carbon fiber halo offering elevates the 4C Spider’s technical look, while highlighting its exclusive carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and windshield frame. For an added touch of exclusivity and technology, a new Carbon Fiber Trim Package appoints the lightweight material on the instrument panel and shift bezels, instrument cluster surround and vent surrounds.

For a bespoke look that emphasizes 4C Spider’s Italian style, Alfa Romeo is now offering a premium leather interior with Tobacco and Black sport seats paired with a Black leather interior detailed with Tobacco accent stitching.

For hardcore motorsports enthusiasts, the 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider will offer an all-new Akrapovič dual-mode exhaust system with Alfa Romeo’s signature resonant sound. Developed in cooperation with the racing exhaust experts at Akrapovič, this beautifully crafted dual-mode titanium exhaust system consists of computer-optimized asymmetrical mufflers, a link pipe with resonator and carbon fiber bezel surrounding the dual exhaust tips. The Akrapovič dual-mode exhaust system is directly linked to the four Alfa DNA selector drive modes, providing maximum Alfa Romeo sound in Dynamic and Race modes, and providing a quieter motoring experience in Natural and All-weather modes.
