Alfa Romeo will debut its new midsized sedan in June 2015

Article by Christian Andrei, on November 22, 2014

Sources confirmed that the all-new midsize sedan from Alfa Romeo will arrive in June 2015. Codenamed 952, the new midsize sedan is a successor of the 159 and it appears that it will not be called Giulia and it is most likely to get a different name. The new sedan will be positioned in the market between the BMW 3-Series and the 5-Series.

This new vehicle is only the beginning for the Italian manufacturer as Alfa Romeo will introduce eight new models by 2018 in an attempt to boost its sales to 400,000 units per year from 74,000 last year.

Besides the new midsize sedan, we will also see a new midsize SUV and a flagship large sedan from Alfa Romeo, while a second, larger SUV will debut later.

The flagship sedan will be sized between the BMW 5-Series and 7-Series, while the midsize SUV will have about the same size as the Audi Q5.

For those who don’t know, Alfa Romeo returned to the United States market with the new 4C sports car, a vehicle priced at around $70,000. This is the first model from Alfa Romeo to be sold in the United States since 1996.

Alfa Romeo is planning to bring more models from Alfa Romeo in the United States, but Reid Bigland a.k.a. the brand’s North American chief didn’t offer too many details. [source: automotive news - sub. required]
