Jaguar Land Rover has named Andy Goss as its group sales operations director, effective October 1, 2013. Goss is currently the carmaker’s North America President.In his new role, Goss, 55 will be responsible for global sales and customer service and will be joining the carmaker’s executive committee in the United Kingdom.
The appointment is part of a shuffle of global sales and marketing executives at Jaguar Land Rover, which said that the changes in sales and marketing are intended to increase growth opportunities in key markets worldwide. The shuffle also led to the appointment of Phil Popham as group marketing director for Jaguar and Land Rover, with responsibility for global marketing. He is currently group sales operations director.
The carmaker remarked that both Popham and Goss have held leadership posts in North America and have strong experience in customer service.
Goss said in a statement that Jaguar Land Rover has “an ambitious global agenda” for both brands, and he looks forward to helping the carmaker “reach new heights." Jaguar Land Rover posted a 14-percent surge in global sales to 210,190 units in the first half of 2013.
Particularly, sales growth was 26 percent in Asia Pacific, 13 percent in North America, and 6 percent in Europe. Jaguar Land Rover is aiming to post global sales of 750,000 units by the end of the decade, with an eye to reach 1 million units.
