Aston Martin launches ‘Explore’ iPhone app

Article by Christian Andrei, on December 30, 2010

Aston Martin announced the launch of its new iPhone app, the Aston Martin Explore, which is meant to bring the exclusive world of Aston Martin to enthusiasts and owners alike through their iPhone or iPod Touch. The app was developed with the same philosophy with which Aston Martin designs and engineers it groundbreaking race and road going cars.

The content in "Explore" reflects Aston Martin’s unique approach to automotive manufacture: fusing traditional craftsmanship and a strong heritage with modern leading technology.

The "Explore" app invites users to see exclusive content like a completely authentic virtual tour of the company’s Gaydon headquarters in the United Kingdom, including manufacturing and design facilities plus access to never before seen sound clips and images.

Great attention to detail has gone in to securing Aston Martin's digital stamp, including an acoustically accurate accelerometer and real life content, such as sounds from the entire current model line-up being driven to extreme on the track.

The "Explore" app is available to download for free from the iTunes App Store from December 22, with a version for the iPad to follow in early 2011. Push notification will allow users to see all the latest Aston Martin news and exclusive content as well as all updates via the marque’s social media presence on Twitter, YouTube and Facebook.

Regular updates will also guarantee "ahead of the curve" technology on all functions featured on the free and premium apps. The company will also introduce a premium Aston Martin "Experience" app early in 2011.
