Audi announces record-setting April sales in the United States

Article by Christian Andrei, on May 1, 2012

Audi announced today record-setting April sales as the German brand saw a 15% increase to 11,521 new vehicles sold. With these numbers, April becomes the 16th consecutive month of record sales in the U.S. According to Audi, sales of premium category vehicles such as the A8, A7, A6 and Q7 saw a 52% increase and represent 31.2% of total April sales.

The most successful model was the Audi A6, which saw a 136.8% increase compared to April 2011. The Audi A7 sales increased 91.2%, compared to initial launch sales set in April 2011. The Q5 sales increased 24.5% compared to April 2011, while the Q7 saw a 12.3% boost in sales compared to April 2011.

Unfortunately, Audi didn’t see an increased in April Certified Pre-Owned sales due to the reduced availability of models to sell. “Audi’s progressive luxury positioning in the market clearly speaks to discerning consumers as they are seeking out the most technologically advanced vehicles in the market,” said Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen. “This is the fundamental reason why Audi has set record sales in sixteen consecutive months and will continue to register steady and sustainable sales improvements.”
