Audi will introduce LED headlights as an option for the new 2012 A6 saloon. Buyers may choose these new headlights as an alternative to the halogen or bi-xenon lamps. Energy consumption is reduced as the LED units emit a strong white light, with each using only 40 watts of electricity. In the press release,

Audi said that the sophisticated LED units use only four one-chip and five two-chip LEDs to make dipped-beam light, and 24 white LEDs to comprise the daytime running lights in each headlight.

As a result, power consumption and maintenance is reduced, leading to an excellent service life. The new LED lights come with intelligent systems such as adaptive light control and high-beam assist, which are targeted at offering maximum visibility without disturbing other road users.

The press release states further that the headlight control unit features a small video camera at the base of the rear view mirror. It routes data from the optional MMI navigation plus navigation system to anticipate changes in ambient lighting. For instance, visibility can be enhanced as the cornering light arrangement can be triggered before the car reaches a junction or corner.

The Audi A6 flagship has been redesigned for the 2012 model year – now offering a light body, athletic chassis and now installed with numerous new assistance and multimedia systems. Moreover, it is available with an extensive selection of engines and drivetrains.

For instance, the lineup will soon be joined by the Audi A6 Hybrid, which features the power of a V6 and the fuel efficiency of a four-cylinder engine. Much of the light yet still very stiff body of the new Audi A6 consists of aluminum and high-tech steels while interior noise levels have been kept to a minimum thanks to state-of-the art design methods and materials. On the other hand, the vehicle offers outstanding vibrational comfort thanks to precision tuning of components as well as systematic hydraulic damping in the axle and drivetrain bearings.

Measuring 4.92 meters (16.14 ft.) in length, 1.87 meters (6.14 ft.) in width, and 1.46 meters (4.79 ft.) in height, the Audi A6 features sporty proportions that convey both athleticism and elegance. Its dynamic looks are marked by a long engine hood and a low, sweeping roofline as well as prominent lines on the flanks create a dynamic overall appearance.

Customers may avail of the optional LED headlights to further enhance the vehicle’s stunning front look. Meanwhile, the spacious yet luxurious interior of the new Audi A6 is marked by the "wrap-around" cockpit that encircles the driver and the front-seat passenger.

Thanks to the elegantly curved dash panel, the driver becomes the central feature of the interior. To boost the elegance and luxurious nature of the Audi A6, its interior is made from carefully selected and crafted. The layered-wood veneer is an example of its meticulous treatment.

Customers could have the front seats equipped with ventilation and massage functions. The elegant interior character has also been boosted by the classy ambient lighting in the lighting package, which offers small points of light throughout the cabin.

In addition, the new Audi A6 features a logical ergonomics concept typical of Audi. Featured as standard on the new Audi A6 is an automatic air conditioning system and the latest MMI radio operating system while offered as options are the MMI touch operating system that allows control of MMI navigation plus system via a touchpad, and a head-up display that projects key info onto the windshield.
