Audi has unveiled the pricing for its MY2015 S3 performance Sedan, A3 Cabriolet and A3 TDI clean diesel Sedan – all new models joining the recently launched Audi A3 family. The new models effectively expand the lineup for the Audi S, Cabriolet, and TDI models. The MY2015 Audi A3 model line-up features new technologies as well as detailed craftsmanship typical of larger flagship sedans.
Offered as standard on the models are leather seating surfaces, power panoramic roof, power driver's seat and split folding rear seatback as well as Bluetooth technology with audio streaming, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, HD radio, and Audi pre sense basic. Also presented as standard are the Audi signature Singleframe grille, bi-xenon headlights and LED taillights. Aside from these standard features, also available are MMI technology, 4G LTE connectivity, full LED headlights and a Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Not only that, the new A3 family will feature the latest Audi connect, which includes picture navigation, read-aloud news headlines, Facebook and Twitter alerts, as well as access to more than 7,000 Web radio stations and personalized RSS news feeds. Customers could also avail of the Audi drive select, which renders adjustable a number of functions like throttle response, shift points, and the electromechanical steering effort.
This system offers four settings: Auto, Dynamic, Comfort, and Individual. Audi will start sales of the three new A3 variants in the United States summer this year. The S3 Sedan is considered as the performance version of the A3 sedan, with certain details that make it deserving to be grouped with the Audi S lineup. The S3 sedan – with quattro all-wheel drive -- is powered by 2.0L TFSI engine that returns 292 hp.
To make it look sporty enough, the S3 is given a Singleframe grille with aluminum-look, double horizontal bars and a chrome frame outline. Also visible are Aluminum-look double ribs and honeycomb inserts filling the air inlets in the bumper. Available as an option are the LED headlights. The S3 will be offered with a S3 specific sport suspension and S3 specific 18-inch wheels. The S3 specific 19-inch wheels are optional.
Inside the cabin, the instrument dials are rendered in an S specific dark gray metallic finish, with the numbers and needles in white. Its tachometer features a three-dimensional S3 logo and boost pressure indicator. To add more spice, there is a leather-covered, multifunction sport steering wheel and S3 badging and standard shift paddles with aluminum details. The S3 Sedan 2.0T q S tronic has a suggested retail price of $41,100.
On the other hand, the A3 Cabriolet will be available in the US in either a 1.8T FWD or 2.0T quattro powertrain. The Cabriolet features a soft cloth top stretched over a lightweight kinematic mechanism, which is in turn made of magnesium-steel. Opening or lowering the soft top would only take less than 18 seconds, even when the vehicle is on the move at up to 31 mph. The A3 Cabriolet may also come with an active rollover protection system, which may protect occupants during a rollover.
Also available are a fully automatic acoustic top with a glass rear window and thick inner foam layer. The suggested retail price for the A3 Cabriolet 1.8T FWD S tronic is $35,600 while for the A3 Cabriolet 2.0T q S tronic is $38,600.
Meanwhile, the Audi A3 TDI Sedan is powered by a dynamic and efficient 2.0 TDI FWD engine that returns 150 hp of output and 236 lb-ft of torque. Audi TDI vehicles have been known to offer an average of 30-percent better fuel economy and range than their gasoline counterparts. The suggested retail price for the A3 Sedan 2.0 TDI FWD S tronic is $32,600.
