Audi still working on the S1, will receive 270 hp and all-wheel drive

Article by Christian A., on September 28, 2010

As you may know already, many reports suggested that Audi will bring the S1 sporty hatchback to the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

Instead, Audi unveiled the 2011 A1 1.4 TFSI and everybody was kind of disappointed because this car doesn’t have ‘S’ badges but also by the fact that it’s 1.4-liter engine with four valves per cylinder delivers 185 hp (136 kW) and 250 Nm (184.39 lb-ft) of torque.

All of you folks wanted to see around 200 hp and a more aggressive bodykit. Well, it appears that an Audi S1 is currently in the works and promises to be phenomenal.

According to Auto Motor & Sport, Audi is planning a hotter version of the A1 with an impressive 270 hp and an all-wheel drive system.

Honestly to tell you, this vehicle looks more like an RS1 to me, and it is possible to see it badged as an RS1.

Regarding the A1 1.4 TFSI, this car can sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 6.9 seconds while the top speed is limited electronically to 227 km/h (141.05 mph).

Expect the upcoming S1 to be even faster, with a sprint from 0 to 100 km (62 mph) under 6.0 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
