Last we saw the so-called sportback version of the Audi Urban Concept but the German manufacturer wanted to show us that the prototype was not the only surprise from the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. As a result, the Audi Urban Concept Spyder was revealed today in two sketches. The Spyder version of the Urban Concept shows a low, continuous window area and its doors that open diagonally to the top.
The cockpit consists of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer, which integrates the undercarriage of both seats. The design is completed by the 21-inch wheels. Moreover, the Audi Urban Concept uses two e-tron electric motors, while a lithium battery supplies the energy.
“On board there is room for two people, their position slightly staggered and at a sporty, low level. All controls and materials are subject to the dictates of ultra-lightweight construction in order to ensure that the sensory experience they convey is unique and compelling. The driver can adjust the steering wheel and pedals to his own body measurements. Characteristic features of the Spyder include its low, continuous window area and its doors that open diagonally to the top.” said the press release.
