Aupeo! Personal Radio iPhone app ready for the BMW ConnectedDrive and MINI Connected

Article by Christian A., on March 1, 2012

All the current BMW and MINI models will soon get the AUPEO! Personal Radio iPhone app. After the launch of the Pandora and MOG music services for the US product lineup in 2011, the BMW and MINI Connected Apps options will give European customers the chance to take pleasure in their own personal music service. AUPEO! is an internet radio service that’s customizable.

It uses a recommender system so that the music would match the individual taste of the customers. With the AUPEO!, customers would be able to get access to personalized radio taken from a database of nearly one million tracks. As soon as a genre or artist is entered by the user, tracks are recommended by an algorithm developed by the Fraunhofer Institute to match their personal taste. The Mood Tuner function chooses tracks depending on the mood.

The users may also select from over 150 channels that were pre-compiled by AUPEO!’s music managers. Examples are “80s Best” or “Rock Classics”. If you want this AUPEO! app for your Apple iPhone, just go to iTunes App Store at itunes.com/appstore to download it free of charge. All the current BMW models that have this Apps option can use it. All the MINI models with the MINI Connected option may also use it too.

What this BMW Apps option offers is for this Apple iPhone to be extensively integrated into the BMW models. The car could be equipped with several infotainment functions, which could then be easily operated and may even be used intuitively using the iDrive system.

In the MINI models, the Apple iPhone may be integrated using the MINI Connected App. The extensive MINI Connected functionality is supplemented by third-party apps and enables MINI customers to remain connected all the time and in ways that enhance their driving experience.
