The Nissan Juke-rivalling SUV from MG dubbed as the MG CS Concept has been unveiled. The automaker has confirmed that this model will enter production and that it will be offered worldwide. It’s sure to arrive at UK dealerships. A team headed by Anthony Williams-Kenny, the company’s global design director, headed the team that designed this concept.
MG asserts that this vehicle features British design flair but at the same time, it shows off the sporting DNA of MG. The concept’s technical details or specifications have yet to be unveiled but it’s expected to be built on the MG3 platform. It’s estimated to be launched sometime in 2014 to allow MG to take advantage of the surge in compact SUV sales.
This segment is dominated by the Juke but MG’s model will also be competing with the Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008 and the rumoured Land Rover baby SUV. MG claims that the production car will have an appearance that’s very similar to the CS concept. However, the company is known for toning down styling when its cars enter production.
Specifically, the MG CS car will be getting a look that’s sporty and youthful. MG also said that this model is expected to be a huge hit among “young, fashion-conscious people.” It features striking headlights that have a shard structure that refracts light in various colours from the side but which come together when viewed from the front to form the octagon of MG’s logo.
