BAC Mono goes to RS Academy

Article by Christian Andrei, on April 7, 2011

The highly coveted first batch of production Mono sports cars has been delivered to RS Academy, a very exclusive track-driving car club in Europe that’s already famous for its current fleet of supercars.

Starting in early May, the members of the RS Academy will get the chance to drive the two new cars at selected dates and venues. According to RS Academy managing director, Rob Stanbury, the club had been working on this project for several months as they knew that they wanted the Mono concept on their fleet on sight. The Mono sports cars are very quick and are extremely well-engineered.

It’s likely that these track cars will provide members with enjoyment on some of the world’s greatest motor racing circuits. The most advanced racing technology was used to create the Mono -- a lightweight, ultra high performance, road legal sports car.

The Mono is targeted at drivers who are looking for a purist driving experience and who value outstanding design, engineering, and performance. The Mono features an aggressive design and it is expected to establish a new benchmark in the small but elite class of radical, lightweight sports cars. The Mono delivers 528 bhp per ton and it can reach a top speed that surpasses 170 mph and sprint from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds.

Throughout the year, RS Academy has scheduled track days at circuits like the Nurburgring, Ascari Race Resort, Paul Ricard and Spa Francorchamps.

Club members get to drive the most awesome cars in the world on the toughest circuits without having to spend a fortune. RS Academy’s fleet of cars (including track cars, latest production models and prototypes from supercar makers) continually changes. Its club members can access more than 100 high quality track days each year and it can ensure limited numbers in order to boost the membership experience.
