Bentley opens new dealership in Cambridge, owned by Vindis Group

Article by Christian A., on January 24, 2012

Bentley has opened a new dealership located on Milton Road in Cambridge. It is owned by one of the leading automotive retailers in the region -- Vindis Group. At least 200 people were at the opening of the new establishment, which was celebrated in style. Among the guests in this occasion were senior executives from Bentley's headquarters as well as motoring enthusiasts from all over the region.

Bentley Cambridge's General Manager Stephen Millward and his team marked the event by previewing the new Bentley Continental 6.0 Liter GTC, which is one of the first showings of the 195mph premium convertible in the United Kingdom. They also gave the guests a preview of one of the stars of the recent Detroit Show -- Bentley's latest 4.0 litre V8 Continental models. Jonathan Punter, from the company's Styling Department team, created a series of wonderful sketches for guests, giving the event a more personal appeal.

The new establishment can showcase at most 10 new and pre-owned Bentley units. The innovative workshop has three ramps. The new mezzanine floor was one of the most notable design features in the establishment. It has been specially made to offer customers a panoramic view of the entire showroom. It has a seating area, a plasma screen and hospitality unit. It also has a commissioning table where clients can choose their veneers and leather hides.

New Bentley Continental GT V8 coupé and GTC V8 convertible represent the best high luxury sports car when it comes to power-to-emissions.

The 4.0 liter, twin turbocharged cars have the Bentley V8 engine that gives you up to 500 bhp of power at 6000 revolutions per minute as well as top torques of 660 Nm at revs of 1700 to 5000 revolutions per minute. This ensures an exciting performance as well as effortless delivery of power that we have all come to expect from a Bentley. The V8 engine works with a close-ratio eight-speed automatic transmission that helps the car accelerate to 60 miles per hour from full stop in under five seconds, as well as achieve top speeds of more than 180 miles per hour.

New V8 Continental models also offer impressive fuel savings and low carbon dioxide emissions. The new cars are able to cover more than 500 miles of distance on a single fuel tank of fuel. Official and complete figures will be out during the early part of 2012.

V8 Continentals ratify the car brand’s commitment to the environment with the release of a power train that cuts fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by 40 percent. Moreover, the new engine uses variable displacement and an engine management system that guarantees an imperceptible and seamless switch from V8 to V4 mode when you have minimal throttle load.

The V8 also has high pressure direct injection, thermal management, low friction bearings, innovative turbo charger packaging, and energy recuperation for improved efficiency.
