For just $550 more, BMW enthusiasts will surely be delighted to have the new BMW 335i Performance Edition package for the 335i sedans, which will be produced starting in August. BMW has recently released the spectacular M3 Frozen Black Edition but this new package promises to be just as awesome. The new 335i Performance Edition will get a boost in power and several distinctive features.
At the BMWNA Sales Roundtable Broadcast in July, BMW revealed that the 335i Performance will have 20hp more, plus 32lb-ft of torque, to be added to the standard model’s output of 300hp an 300 lbs-ft (406 Nm) of torque. As a result, the vehicle can accelerate from zero to 60 mph (100 km/h) 0.2 seconds faster.
The new BMW335i Performance Edition will also feature black kidney grilles and a “Performance Edition” badge. Notably, the new package can only be used with the 335i models that have the Sport/M-Sport package. The BMW 335i Limited Performance Edition will be offered on the 335 sedans in “i” and “xi” models but it needs a Sport package on the “i” and M-Sport and on the “xi models”.
The BMW 3-Series Saloon comes out with a more dynamic look and with eye-catching design elements all around. Meanwhile, the BMW 3-Series Touring has been given the same design upgrades coupled with new visual upgrades for a more elegant and sporty appearance.
Improvements to the Front: Bold and Wide
The new BMW 3-Series Saloon and BMW 3-Series Touring models now have front designs that highlight their width. The signature double circular headlights are framed elegantly by chrome tubes, while the corona rings may also be fitted with bi-xenon head lights serving as daytime running lights. Indicator lights on both redesigned models are ribbed and fitted with LED lights.
View from the Side: Unstated Elegance
With taut surfaces and flowing lines, the sides of both BMW 3-Series models comprise a study in elegance. The side skirts feature contour lines that are set higher than previous models and these are modelled in a different, more distinctive way. The exterior mirrors feature prominent character lines in a wavy pattern, echoing the concave and convex design features of the new cars. And the mirrors did not just undergo a cosmetic facelift, they have also been given a bigger field of vision.
Lighting up the Trail: Athletic and Taut Rear End
Athletic power is one of the design philosophies of the new BMW 3-Series Saloon and BMW 3-Series Touring cars. And this is seen when you view the cars from the back. The emphasis on its sporty look means that a complete overhaul in the design of the rear bumpers, luggage compartment handle and rear lights is in order.
The rear lines now follow the BMW L shape design, while the tow rear light clusters and direction indicators now have LED lights and have an expensive look to them.
The BMW 3-Series cars also got a wider track, making them look naturally powerful. Up to 24 millimeters have been added to the new cars’ track, depending on which model you get.
Get Inside: Prepare to be Amazed
Needless to say, the impressive exterior is complemented by an equally impressive interior. Ergonomics is the name of the game when it comes to the elements that you see here. And, of course, the materials used are all top-quality, giving the modern interior with its concave and convex touches a more exquisite and sporty feel.
The new cars will also see the debut of the BMW iDrive. You can opt to have the BMW iDrive put into your BMW 3-Series Saloon or BMW 3-Series Touring car to experience the next generation infotainment system from the German carmaker. The BMW iDrive activates and controls your infotainment, telecommunications and navigation systems. To make it more exciting, you can also opt for the professional navigation system.
iDrive allows for multi-mode operation using voice input, better display resolutions, and easier and more intuitive operation. You can easily switch from listening to a radio program to your own CD music, then make a phone call or view the navigation functions with the four buttons clustered near the controller and the functional bookmarks.
