The BMW Zagato Roadster has been unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. It builds on the already well-known connection these companies made with the Zagato Coupe. It took only six weeks for the BMW Zagato Roadster to be created from its sketches into being a working concept.
Zagato chief designer Norihiko Harada said that this car is meant to be regarded an elegant convertible, but then it also is a masculine and extremely dynamic sports car that brings to mind a potent driving experience. The BMW heritage is maintained with the appearance of the low front-end kidney grilles but Zagato has remolded the body panels to have an appearance that’s powerful.
The grating is composed of several small “Z” metal letters within the grille. The front end is already contoured but its styling is enhanced with the new air intakes in the hood. The front end gets a premium appearance from an LED light strip set into the matte surface above the headlights.
The exterior features include the 19-inch light-alloy wheels with five-spoke design and brilliant grey paint that’s intended to appear like liquid metal. The interior uses black and brown leather with embroidered seats and contrasting stitching. The roadster has sweeping horizontal lines along the doors’ interior and also comes with a full-length center console.
